http://www.svtperformance.com/forum...on-nitrous-powered-2013-svt-shelby-gt500.htmlIt’s not very often that a car debuts that literally leaves the competition wondering, "What the Hell just happened?". That was basically the response from Camaro Nation when Ford unveiled the 662 HP 2013 SVT Shelby GT500 Mustang. Since the cars have started to get into the eager hands of new owners we’re finally getting to see what a true beast Ford and SVT has set loose upon the world.
One such new owner is long time SVTP Vendor Lethal Performance. Lethal picked up their brand new Performance White with Matte Black stripes 2013 GT500 on June 14th. The car came equipped with the SVT Performance Package, the SVT Track Package, Navigation, and Recaros. As per Lethal’s M.O., they wasted no time finding out what the car is truly capable of. After just a few break-in miles the Lethal GT500 found itself on Power By The Hour’s dyno for a baseline run and a few mods. But first, a few pics of the car:
The 2013's upgraded brakes really pop behind the snow flake wheels of the SVT Performance Package.
This snake emblem has been the symbol of SVT dominance over all other pony cars for over a decade.
Makes me want one.
You'll be able to see the Lethal 2013 GT500 at Mustang Week in Myrtle Beach.
Check out a video of the baseline dyno run.

The baseline runs resulted in 590.6 RWHP 612.0 RWTQ.

After the impressive 590 HP baseline run it was time to start modding. The first order of business was to add a custom Lund SCT tune. Lethal has worked with Jon Lund over the years to tune several of their hyper-powered builds. They also fitted one of Lethal’s Off-Road X-Pipes to the car. Unfortunately, we’re not able to share the numbers those mods produced. You’ll have to wait for a future issue 5.0 Mustangs and Super Fords magazine to see the power numbers, until then here's pic of the stock and Lethal pipes:
Stock vs. Lethal components.
Lethal didn’t want to stop there though; they wanted to take their 2013’s power output to much more savage level. They got there by piping in a 150HP shot of giggle gas courtesy of a Nitrous Pro-Flow wet shot kit. The kit was installed with an NOS controller to adjust the RPM at which the N20 would start to flow. Follow along with the some of the install:
The NOS nitrous controller fits neatly on the firewall.
To ensure that the N2O is activated at the proper time a throttle position signal is needed. The guys at PBH tapped into the TPS sensor.
Once tidied up you'd hardly know any aftermarket wiring was added.
The NOS controller also needs an RPM signal. In this case it's being taken from one of the COP wires.
The nitrous nozzle was plumbed into the intake pipe.
With everything buttoned up it was time to hi the dyno again.
Just need to install the bottle and purge the lines.
Ready to run.
With just a 150 shot, off-road x-pipe, and some custom SCT tuning by Ken Bjonnes of Lund Racing the 5.8L V8’s hit the rollers again. Power production was brought up to 763.9 RWHP and 859.9 RWTQ.
Here you can see a comparison of the stock run with the nitrous, O/R X-Pipe, and Lund Custom SCT Tune run. Needless to say a 173.2 RWHP and 247.9 RWTQ gain pretty noticeable.

Power figures like that used to be the domain of large earth moving equipment and NASA rocket. Now with one call to Lethal and a few dollars you can transform your 2013 GT500 into a machine built for making Camaro owners question their vehicle and hair style choices.
But C5 soul crushing dyno numbers are just one part, albeit an impressive part, of this story. The second part of this high-octane fueled journey with the Lethal GT500 finds us at Palm Beach International Raceway for their Wednesday night test-and-tune festivities. As luck would have it, another shop from the area was there testing their new ZL1. The stars must have been completely misaligned for that poor Camaro because the beatdown it received at the hands of the Lethal GT500 was nothing short of brutal.
Time to get those tires warmed up.
Staged up and ready to run.
This is the time slip for a run off the juice.
With the 150 shot of squeeze traction was a bit of an issue. ET improved by less than half a second but MPH increased about 11.

If that’s not enough nitrous fueled abuse for you, there’s already a thread, complete with pics and vids, chronicling the Lethal GT500’s dominance over the ZL1 right here on SVTP:
