Because I know there are a bit of outdoor enthusiasts on here, and having used one of these this past weekend on a 4 day backpacking trip, I figured I'd give a heads up that it popped up on Groupon today.

It's a great addition for any preppers/backpackers/day hikers, and it works awesome.

This literally sucks that I couldnt buy one at a groupon price. Would probably buy a dozen for family/friends/coworkers.

They're in stock at REI for $21. If that's the $19 groupon from earlier it wasn't a great deal, especially if you're an REI member ($2.50 off).

I prefer my MSR filter. It attaches to the top of my water bottles for an easy fill.

It was for $15.99 shipped, so a little saving over REI membership!

if you are asking does it desalinizate the water? no. you will still have the salt water taste. all these filters do is remove bacteria and microbes so the water is safe to drink and you wont get a gi tract infection.

giarardia and ecoli in water sources are bad news if water isnt treated or filter. make your entire week really bad.
