dam- wonder how much lighter they would be than the standard 14 gt 197 brakes- Easier to make the car lighter than the drive (for me that is) This maybe my next mod - since I am only putting less than 2k a year on now since I went spool and arb in the rear.

I have base 2015 brakes which are the same as the track pack setups of 11-14 cars, so if youre are a little smaller then Id say you still will drop 70-80lbs. The front stock 14in rotor is HEAVY AF!!

Didn’t want to go 15” rears considering the new brakes?

Wanted to, due to lower cost of wheel and tires but 15” wheel is very tricky on an S550. You can only fit a 15x9.33 wheel, but if you get a 15x9 with the wrong specs or not exact you run into issues with either suspension interference or contact with fender. Wasn’t worth the risk so went with 17x9.5s. Unfortunately the 17x9.5 with 305-45 is about 3.5 lbs heavier than the 18x10 with 285-40 per corner.

Damn. I still have a set of rear 15x10 SVE drags from my gt500.

Was hoping they’d fit with the Baer brakes.

Was invited to test n tune this past Friday. Didnt bother putting the track tune, left the street tune/base map that Lund sent me over a year ago when I put the gt350 manifold on. DA was about 2000. Tune has the shift points set at 7000rpm. This goes to show you there’s isn’t really special about the car besides Lund’s tuning and using the cars powerband accordingly.

Thanks. Want to run the 10.5 class next month at a local event. Want to get a one piece DS to be safe.

Picked up a Shaftmasters 3.5” Aluminum DS and a Stifflers DS loop. Long overdue. Hoping install goes smoothly and we don’t deal with vibes.

Well DS is on. Besides a little gear whine right at 45mph(expected) which is heard only with radio off, all else is good. Wouldn’t know it’s got a DS on as far as vibes are concerned. I approve of the Shaftmasters piece for $599, nice piece with nice welds. Along with the Stifflers loop. Below is the weight on my scale of the stock DS without mounting hardware

another small upgrade as the track weather nears. Stock battery is said to be around 32-33lbs, though I haven’t put it on the scale.

Did the battery come with the proper terminals to hook up to the factory battery cables? or did you have to order separate, I am thinking of going to a lithium
