Looking for my Sonic Blue Terminator

I'm trying to see if I can locate my old 03 Cobra. I ordered the car from Tropical Ford in Orlando, FL in May of 2002. The car came in on June 24th of 2002 and I picked it up. I didn't allow them to do anything to the car other than offload it. I brought it home and detailed it myself. While most of you mod/drive the cars, I'm that one guy who bought it to primarily show, which I did. I had made a few mods to the car, but not a lot. Basically a CAI and a catback Bassani stainless exhaust. In November of 2007 I decided it was time to sell the car. It had 2,305 miles on it. I advertised it several places and a guy from California saw the ad, called me and then flew out to see the car. Once he saw it, he definitely wanted it and bought it. I had a verbal agreement with him that should he ever decide to sell the car, he would contact me first. I talked with him on and off for a few years and then we just lost contact. I'm almost certain he sold the car. I would like to see if someone here has it and if they would have any interest in selling it back to me. Call it late sellers remorse. The VIN of the car is 1FAFP48Y13F302184. I still have the window sticker as well as the SVT Welcome kit and a lot of other documents. Below is a pic of the car before I sold it. This was at the Silver Springs Ford and Mustang show in January of 2003. I hadn't had the windows tinted yet, but they were when I sold it. You'll notice that where the "Ford" sticker is on the right rear, it now says "Terminator". I forget what company was selling them, but you just peeled off the back and attached it right over the Ford sticker. I also added the Stainless "Cobra" letters.

John, I sold it when I talked to you last in 2015. I wish you would’ve bought it back but you said you would have to pass at that time. I listed the car here and it sold in literally 5 minutes. I’ve kept in contact with the guy who purchased it and he’s not wanting to let go as I’ve tried to buy it back a couple times myself. Hope all is good with you.

That's tough when you lose a great one like that, want it back, find out where it is, but also find out the current owner doesn't want to sell. That is one gorgeous Sonic Blue Cobra.

AJ, good to hear from you, my friend. Glad all is well with you. I appreciate you reminding me of the sale and you are correct, at the time you were selling it I was looking at a 1970 Boss 302, as I used to own one right after I got out of the Army and was trying to work a deal to get this one just like it. A pic of what it looked like is below. Unfortunately, the deal just didn't pan out. So, I lost both the Sonic Blue Cobra from you and the 1970 Boss 302 I was trying to get. That was a pretty crappie year. Did you ever do any mods to the Cobra ? I know you talked about some things you were planning to do, but wasn't sure if you ever got around to it. Seems to me you left it pretty much the way it was, but I could be wrong. That car was strong with just the exhaust and CAI done. What got me wondering about the car is I was originally considering a 2020 Shelby GT500. But, I have to consider the cost, which will be more than I'm willing to pay, especially knowing that while these motors will be generating over 700 HP, the 2013/2014 Shelby GT500's are at 662 HP and I can get a low miles track pack/performance pack car for half what the 2020 Shelby will run. That brought me to thinking about the 03 Cobra. Here is why; while the 2013/14 Shelby GT500 and the 2020 Shelby GT500's put down good HP, the internals of those cars motors are pretty much max'd out. They simply can't take additional mods to get much higher without breaking. If you look at the 03/04 Cobra motors, John Colletti made sure Ford built those motors to take a lot more work and generate crazy HP, as we all know. Ford had a black eye after the 2001 Cobra's came out and were supposed to have 320 HP, but they didn't. Colletti made sure the 03/04 Cobra's would not suffer the same fate. Then there is the simple fact there are only so many of those cars. There are a lot more Shelby GT500's running around out there. So, I figured if I could locate my old Cobra, and it was still in good shape, I would see if the guy would consider selling it back to the original owner. You have to admit, I should at least have the opportunity to get it back since I was the guy who ordered it and made her the beauty she was. To be honest though, if I had a chance to buy a 1970 Boss 302 like my old one, that would be my first choice, but having my old Cobra back in the garage would definitely make my day. I just retired at the end of last year, so now I have this time to devote to things like this. I enjoy my 2015 GT premium with the 50th Anniversary package an 11,500 miles, but in my mind, when I drop the hammer, the 03 Cobra pulled a lot harder. Anyway, just thought I would throw all this out there. If the owner reads this and wants to make an old Mustang guy happy, shoot me a PM. I would just like to know how she is doing. Hopefully, the guy who bought her is taking good care of her. I have been to Texas many times over the last 10 years and they are great car guys/gals. I still have friends that live there and when I traveled there we used to go to some of the car shows and they had some killer cars there. BTW, SJ SNAKE, thanks for verifying the car is in Texas and for the pic of the car when she belonged to 2sick4v's. This particular web site has always had great people on it which is why it is still up and running while many others faded out. As the owner of a 69 428 Mach and the owner of a Terminator, Id be buying the Terminator. My 428 at 408 flywheel hp is so boring after driving the Cobra.

cj428mach, I can appreciate your thoughts on the choice. No doubt the terminator would run circles around the Boss. For me though it is more of an emotional decision. That Boss was my first car after getting out of the Army after my 1 tour in Vietnam. In fact, it was my first car. I bought it used from a guy in the Navy who just got orders to head overseas and he had to sell the car. I had just got back from overseas and was looking for something nasty. My dad wanted to sell me his 68 Dodge Polara with a 318. No chance of that happening though. As soon as I saw the Boss, I knew it was meant for me. It didn't take me long to get on a first name basis with most OPD (Orlando PD) after I got it either. My best friend had a beautiful marina blue 56 Chevy with a DZ302 motor and 4 speed in it. The car had a roll and pleated interior with buckets and truly was a sweet ride. We raced one time and I hurt his feelings so bad he never tried that again.

Anyway, it's all the memories I made with the Boss that drive me to want that car as my first choice. Not that it takes anything away from the Cobra, as like you said, it is so quick and the ride quality over the Boss is night and day too. Not to mention it has A/C, where the Boss didn't. If I was a lucky guy I would be like you and have one of each.
