Looking for options on what to do for a damaged catback system

This past spring I bought a used borla stinger catback system. When I received them I took the section that has the mufflers attached to them and just put them in the basement and polished the rest of the system that you can see under the car. The pipes came as you see wrapped in the picture. It was not until a few weeks ago where I took the system along with some other mods to be done on the car to a shop with the intent was to have cats welded on at the same time which is why I did not install it over the summer.
One of the pipes on the muffler section had a very good size dent in it that I honestly did not see until just recently. The place I brought the car to tried a few things to get the dent out of the pipe and took it to an exhaust shop as well to no avail. Sorry but I do not have a picture of the dent right now but will add one once I pick the car back up again. Honestly I want to use this system it cost me $800 but I do not think I'll be able to get the tail pipe and muffler section to seal correctly so does anyone have any suggestions for what I can do or option to take to be able to use this exhaust system? I could look for another damaged one that has a good pipe on the side I need but that seems to be a long shot. Too much time has gone by from the place I bought it from for anything to be done.

The damaged part is the left side muffler at the top of the pipe. I should have inspected everything better when taken out of the box but I didn't so this is how things are now.

If it's after the muffler you probably won't hear any leaks anyway.

One of the slip joints after the muffler on my Stinger set up is D shaped. Low car problems. But no one could see it.

Is it the ball and socket damaged or a dented pipe? If it’s the socket, an adjustable wrench and slight bending back to shape should be fine. If it’s a dented pipe, don’t worry about it, it won’t hurt anything. I have a small dent in one of my pipes, bottomed out on a touch less car wash one time at MW. Only I see it when the cars jacked up. No one else would ever know. Bothers me but I get over it quickly when I check the cost of a new CB.

Its on the end the hanger is on for the muffler pipe so its the section that connects to the tail pipe and not the X pipe. It defiantly looks like a D. The initial photo's were further away and lacking detail ( unlike the photo i included ) so it was difficult to see any damage on them initially on the for sale ad and it was not disclosed.

I assume they did, I tired a one by hand that I have but it was dented so much it just misshaped and broke apart the expander. If its a mechanical one I assume it would work but apparently not.......but I have a few exhaust shops near me once I get the car back so I'm going to try those and see what can be done

The pipe is dented where the band clamp holds the tail pipes and muffler section together. I believe the issue was getting them to seal together properly without a big exhaust leak.

find a new exhaust shop. i work in an exhaust shop and even without seeing the dent i bet we could fix it within a few minutes.

worse case we would cut it out, weld in a new section and v-band it. of course this would have to be done on vehicle to be sure fitment is perfect.

Any half competent exhaust shop will have a pipe expander they can run through it to fix the dent. I've fixed many dented exhaust sections and radiator necks damaged in transit that way perfectly. Takes like 30 seconds to fix.

edit: Don't waste your time driving around bringing the parts everywhere, just google exhaust shops in your area and call and ask if they have a pipe expander to fix a dented ?2.5''? exhaust surface

I'm going to bring it by the exhaust shops in my area once I get it back. The car and exhaust system are 2 states away right now.

I didn't drive anywhere. Once I have the car back I'll bring it by the shops in my area

I think you can buy a tail pipe expander on amazon or the auto parts store. they are cheap and you can use it as a drill attachment.
