There’s a few rollers in Alabama on FB worth messaging if you are considering buying a Cobra without engine/trans.
If one was closer I might even consider the project but no clue as to what the history is.
Rear seat delete and tubular k member. Could be flood car and could have been a legit running car that was used as a donor.
Probably worth a message

What’s your budget for a coupe?
Looking to be into the car for at or under 23 in the end including the “roller”. I have been researching and reaching out to engine builders to get an idea of the cost. Holy cow why are these 4v 4.6 so expensive to have built to basically stock?

my budget is around 23k id like to think if i get the car for 10 ish that i can achieve that. That was until i started calling around getting prices from well known 4.6 32v cobra motors… it’s insane how expensive it is to build a “like stock” modular ford. No one wants to touch them, and the specialists who do want an arm and a leg. I thought building diesels was expensive. I’m not going to disclose the prices I was given or who the company’s are because they are well known. I’m going to go look at the car tomorrow and see what’s there or missing and see if it’s worth the money. From the pictures it looks like it has potential. I’ll keep you guys posted.

23k is going be hard with missing the engine and trans starting at 10k. You are minimum 5k for a short block. 2-4k for heads, $2500-4000 for a trans, DS, clutch, bell housing and maybe a shifter, cable and harness too.

Then all the missing miscellaneous stuff… cross over, pulley bridge, alternator, brackets, pullies, harness etc. blower, lower intake, ac…… the list goes on and on. You would need to start at 5k to stay around 23-25k

Knowing what I know now about what it cost me to rebuild my motor I’ll look for a car that’s got a hurt motor in it before I buy a roller that’s missing all kinds of stuff. Only way I’d get a roller is if it’s complete interior and the car needs a motor and or transmission. I want to get a teksid block sometime this year and start slowly accruing stuff and building it over time. Ideally I’d love to grab a roller of some sort in the future and throw my current motor into it and put the teksid into my car. My son is 9 and I have some time but unless I somehow end up with a 13/14 GT500, I’ll look for another 03/04 to work on with him.

Car sold tonight unfortunately, didn’t get to take a look at it. It was all there. 55k mile, no accidents, clean title. I took too long to go see it, was busy last week. Still looking for a car, complete or incomplete long as it’s in my price range.

Wasn’t meant to be, just keep looking. I’ve had that happen where I’ve gotten stuck at work dealing with BS, missed out on a deal and found another one which wound up being better for me.
