Hey guys, just got back from LFP. He's got some Magnum Powers coming in so I figure it's time to retire my ported eaton.

Anybody interested in doing a Group Buy with me?

Not really. I bought one a few months back, and we tested it against an Apten ported blower. The MP only made about 14RWHP/14lbft torque more than the Apten did. Needless to say, I sold the MP and bought a ported Apten. When the time comes to upgrade my blower, it will be a KB or Whipple.

What is the MP? Since my time in the L community I've never really heard much about it, except it barely out performs the ported Eaton.

Magnum Powers Supercharger. Big with the GM Cars and trucks I think.

EDIT: Sorry it Magnason superchargers that are big with GM, not Magnum Powers.

Right, I understand that, but I mean, whats its difference between the MP and the Eaton? I thought the MP just had different 'guts' but still used the Eaton case? Or am I crazy?

Other way around, or you can get MP with their guts as well.

As already stated, MP barely out performs Apten and costs more. Not a decent investment. Save up and go big or invest in something else.

You can get that much out of an Apten ported Eaton too. That wasn't a stock motor they got those numbers with. Take an Apten ported Eaton and put it on the same motor with the same pulley combo, and it would be very close.

Here is the JDM dyno sheet for the stock block Lightning with normal bolt on's. Looks like pretty good numbers to me.....

And they had to have every single possible mod to get it there. KB with minimal bolt ons surpasses the MP.

I guess I am one of the few that consider "all the bolt ons" necessary..
Anybody can just swap a blower.. Building the whole engine up is the only way to go...
