Main thrust bearing install?

Really surprised no one has responded about this

I think it's because nobody knows... You might want to try asking in the cobra section, way more traffic over there. Also try searching for a Ford Shop Manual, I'm sure it's have that info in there, a while back someone posted a link to one iirc

(edited wrong motor) the thrust bearing should be on #5 it is for endplay. set it to .008 max is .012. if its too tight sand it, if its too loose get a different one or use shims if supplied

cool, try the thrust bearing without the shims and add shims if necessary. shims go in between main bearing and thrust bearing. shouldn't need them tho. if you need any other help let me know.

they are meant for securing it. mostly for high hp automatic cars. ive never had the screws machined. the groves are for oil.

The shims are for the cap side and the 1 piece with holes is for the block side (back), the shims go between the bearing and the cap. We can send a schematic if you email our tech dept.
