One of our clients got his new wheels on and sent me some photos to edit. He is not active here, but I found his Morimoto headlight swap to be quite interesting. Car is lowered on the CFTP front springs and OEM GT500 rear springs. Morimoto headlights and parking/turn lights. Signature Wheel SV902. What are your thoughts on these lights?
i think the LED outline looks stupid 90% of the time, no different here. Turn that off and looks pretty menacing
How well do they work? If they work better than OEM i say go for it. If not they dont look good enough to replace
I’m not a fan of aftermarket lighting on sports / muscle cars (few exceptions), but this don’t look to bad. It does remind me of a charger, tho.
Like the wheels, they look good on this car and I love the fact that when they are rolling down the road all you'll see are rotor and caliper. Tony
I dig the lights - bigtime. The first time I saw them my gut whispered "**** yeah." Last time it was wrong was 1987, when it thought I could handle three stanky ass beef and cheese burrito's from Colosso Taco at 3am while in a drunken state of vomitorious stupor. That got way uglier than I ever thought it could. So when I weigh the aftermath from said burrito disaster to the headlights I see here - simply no coparison bro, they look utterly ****ing amazing. TLDR - I seriously like the look Mark has achieved.
Your client has great taste. I love every mod he's made. The wheels blow the stock wheels out of the water.
Yeah, I think the headlights are nice, but un-necessary. It is hard to argue the performance value of this car, but my God the maw on that car..... I could only buy it in black because it would hide the big mouth bass horror a bit.
I agree with you in regards to the headlights. Just not something that I would spend money on, even if ballin. I think the “mouth” wouldn’t look as big if the cross section was color keyed.
I really like the update. I actually prefer the early ‘15-17 lights, but these aftermarket lights do update the only part of the GT500 design that is carryover. Higher tech light and if functions better, a win. This is something I’d actually do to my car. Minor complaint, but I’d like to see the bottom line of the LED halo match the bumper better. Take a close look at the first pic. If the innermost section of the lower LED strip angled down just a bit more to better follow the bumper line I’d have a pair on order to be ready for the cars arrival. Still a great upgrade and this particular car is killer! Classy subtle mods always get me. -J
Look at the third pic down. I don't think it can. There's a triangular area with a slight angle change as you go from the "top" of the bumper to the "base" of the light that you can see in the third pic but doesn't show up in the 1st, head on, pic. To match the angle in the bumper that you see head on I think the lower LED portion of the light would look "off" relative to the base of the actual light housing itself and weird from any other angle.
