I hate to tell ya man but I think the DOHC FI Forged motor was way ahead of its time and is a good inidcator of what is to come. Smaller displacement, overhead cam motors with variable timing and Forced Induction. The push rod motor, while nice, makes great power and is proven technology, will become obsoleted in the near future for production cars. Maybe in race application, will the pushrod V8 still be used but I see the market going in the other direction for production vehicles. Just my opinion though..
Just look at the Cobra and the power that can be made from a small 281ci motor. Why use a huge displacement motor when you can compensate it with a supercharger or turbo?

"The Challenger is my former Chief's new car. He used to have a 2007 Shelby GT500 and a 2010 Challenger R/T He traded them both in for a 2011 Green Challenger SRT8 392 Hemi. This car is beautiful. It's got the Green Metallic looking paint with black racing stripes."

    LEO or Navy?

    thats my point.

cause it is cool and the roots. 500 rwhp with fi, to me, will never be as cool as 500 na power. the sound of high compression, big cam, headers = all day. when i go to the spot on the weekends and i start up my car, then someone starts up there a na combo i cant even hear my car.ya i still have to put cars lengths on them to keep them in check,:-D but still they sound better at idle.

Yeah, because 90% of the mustangs on the road look like 03/04 Cobras. :bash: Interior, are you kidding me? We are talking about a muscle car. They are loud, they vibrate and they go fast. If I want a smooth ride, I'll get into my 535 or Acadia. BTW, the Challenger interior is made of the same plastic used in the mustang. Try again....

True. Last cruising weekend in OC as soon I got there pulled up next too a Chevelle with cutouts, cam and whatever else he was trying to yell at me over his idle. That was easily the nastiest loudest street car ive ever heard. He still got pulled to the next light but damn if she didn't sound great. :burnout:

I've stated on LS1tech I think fully that my lightly bolt on Mach 1 could take a stock 392 from a dig. The Mopar nut swingers said I was full of :bs:

This should help you then... belongs to a friend's dad (I've driven it myself and managed to run almost identical times to my own car).

Actually I am running the Mach with bolt ons and gears for the first time this coming friday. The Mopar nut swingers were saying the 392 is a 12.3-12.4 car stock.

Yes.. I have to agree with you 100%...There is nothing like an old big block with big cubic inches and a cam. However, whatever gets you to the finish line first is what really counts especially if your running for cash.

I did see that Youtube video of the 392 running a 12.4 :dw: however, I think that was a rare occurence where a great driver ran their 392 on a perfectly prepped track with a great DA. I have yet to see this time duplicated in stock form since.

My understanding is that 12.4 run had drag radials. The time slip I posted was done in -400da. Not the best 60ft or anything but I don't see a 12.4 happening in stock form.
