Well, its been a couple months since I completed the swap, and I know there are probably a dozen or so of these things on here, but here it goes.

I bought my GT back in '09 in Roseville, CA at 67k miles while I was stationed in Mississippi. I had my dad go and pick it up for me. I drove it back to Mississippi and it became my daily driver, then I got stationed in Florida and still drove it around. This whole time I wanted to make it as fast as it sounded, and I was also tired of losing to anything with an LSx in it, but I couldn't afford it. So while I was on my second deployment to Afghanistan, I bought a 2003 cobra, sight unseen, that had been totaled with 17k miles on it from a website called Copart. I had it delivered to a friends house where they had issues taking it off the trailer. They got it to move, and put it in my storage unit and thats where it sat until I got to it.

As stock and clean as can be. . .

Here's the donor car.

This is why they couldn't drive it off the trailer. I dont know how you break a rotor inside the wheel, but this is the 3rd one i have seen like that. The other two were on Vettes...

There was even more damage in the trunk, the unibody was in rough shape.

The car itself was 9k, after taxes title and delivery it came out to be just shy of 11, and spent another couple hundred on things like new rear rotors and pads, and a cherry picker, and some hardware for putting in the intercooler pump. But I didn't have to spend much else after that.

Highly recommend at least the single upper auxiliary idler pulley to prevent belt slip, if not the whole set.

Yea, I know all too well. It actually only started slipping recently(roughly 5k miles on a new belt) but they are the next thing on my list after brakes. Also need to install my IRS brace.

How big of a PITA was the dash to remove?

For a dashboard, very easy, there were i think 7 bolts holding it in, some under the defrost vent under the windshield, and 2 on either side, and 2 sneaky ones behind the glovebox and kickplate under the steering wheel. But you can take it out by yourself, its much easier with someone else though.

Great job with the swap. Lookedto be pretty straight forward.

It was the most straightforward swap I think I've ever seen. Once it was together, I primed the fuel, cranked it and it fired right up no problems.

Looks killer!

Hey, I really need the stock MAF tube that the MAF mounts to on your stock GT motor? Any way I could buy it off you? PM me please!
