This does not make sense but I will tell the story anyway...I just bought my 15 SS. It has about 500 miles on the clock now so I figure I will see how fast it is. Absolutely love the car but I didn't think it was that fast. So late last night my son and I go out to see how fast it is. We go to a road 1/2 mile from my house with no side access for the police and very deserted at night. !st gear roll, maybe 10 MPH at best. Very very even start to 100 mph, Exactly SIDE by SIDE all the way. Here's the part that does not make sense - My HotRod 56 Chevy with an over the counter LS3/525, weighing 3350 w/o me and 440 RWHP and the SS weighing 600 lbs. more and at best 360 RWHP which means 80 HP less is SIDE by SIDE. I might add that the 56 ran 110 mph at the drags 2 weeks ago...GO FIGURE

I see no multimedia action going on here. You are surprised your Camaro ran side by side with a 110 trapping car? No surprise here.

Video to follow if I can get it up...I was in the 56 with 3.42's and the SS has 3.27's.

Please post pics of the '56. Oh man I love the Tri five's! Awesome that you got an LS3 in yours too.

Aerodynamics and gearing play a part. Not just the gear ratio in the diff., but also the gearing in your transmission. Then of course manual vs. auto, and how fast you can shift a manual vs. how fast he can shift a manual. Tires also play a part. Not just for traction, but for rolling resistance. Lots of little things add up.

The answer is that the 56 isn't running properly. 440 rwhp in a 3400 lb car should be a 120mph car. It's down about 100 rwhp or that's what the trap speed shows. My friend has a 2014 SS and it went 13.2 @111 mph with a crap 60 ft.

What's the rest of the shoebox's setup? I hope it's not a TH350 with a 12" converter.

Shoe box, NICE...over the counter LS3 with a 4L70 attached...Both cars are autos with the SS with 3.27's & the 56 with 3.42's.

Converter? If anything other than a 9-10" unit that's your problem. And the 3.42 is a little steep.
