Come on gents.......a 135+ trap speed will be about as common as a 140 Demon trap.

Look, the Ford GT has a much better P:W, better weight distribution, lower rolling resistance, is much slipperier aerodynamically, and still can’t hit the times or speeds being thrown around here. Not trying to be Debbie downer, just inject some sanity into the conversations.

What are you talking about?

His new sheet has it at 140.

I noticed a mistake in the eSourcebook concerning the size of the tires for the base GT500. It has them listed as 295/30ZR20 & 305/30ZR20. I wonder how many other things are in there that haven't been updated?

Dyno Run Reveals Ford GT Develops 590 RWHP

590whp from a dct MR rated at 647hp.

I think the gt500 will dyno 700whp+.

110whp is worth 5-8mph at the strip in this scenario imo with the gt500’s 600lbs coming along for the power.

Fgt’s also trap 130-136mph iirc.

So we are if a car with a shorter final drive rear will trap the same as a 600lbs lighter car with 110whp less.

I’m guessing 10.5-11.0 @ 128-135 to be the norm.

The GT is 3300#, so closer to 900# of extra weight to drag around, not even counting all the other advantages. Gearing even favors the GT. The fastest GT trap to date is 132-133 iirc.

Sorry, a 135 will be a unicorn run. Most definitely not the norm.

Ive said before the traps are high there, i expect to see 133 - 135 from anyone not horrible conditions
Do you have any examples of cars that you’ve used this spreadsheet on and have real world comparison?
One example would be the Hellcat and Demon.
Should have all the same data from those 2 cars to input into your spreadsheet. And we also have many internet and verifiable datasets on the real world track results to compare and potentially validate it.
Might be able to predict the performance test results I hope we all get to see sooner than later.

But, and this is huge, if you look at the auto coup and compare it, it’s only 280lbs heavier which is nothing if you think about it.

(Total sarcasm, car is phat. It’s like Shaq though, not fat Albert.)

Michael Jordan was definitely heavier in his prime than Kevin Durant

I personally still think Jordan (gt500) is better overall than Durant. (Zl1)

Weight wise Jordan was 20-30lbs heavier.

Edit*

I fail, Durant is heavier! 240lbs Durant vs 225lbs Jordan! What I get for talking sports when I give 2 ****s about sports...

What a foolish comparison all the way around.

Did I delete the post or dramatically change it? I think I edited it 5 min after and pointed out that I give zero ****s about sports.

Bottom line is the gt500 will probably be a better overall performer than the zl1-1le even being 300lbs heavier. Regardless of the sport, there are athletes that have weighed 10-15% more than others and done amazing. That was the comparison you’re calling foolish which shows you either lack reading comprehension or can’t draw conclusions well. Either way, why put yourself on blast?

That isn’t a foolish comparison, yer probably just fishing to troll and get a rise.

Here, have a brownie point.

I am still trying to find out just how bad the MPG is for this beast that justifies a $2600 Gas Guzzler Tax. We may need a larger gas tank, 16 gal may not get us very far.

My 8500 lb Ram diesel struggles to achieve the same MPG as prior year Ram diesels that weigh much less.

That's the problem with big women. They simply consume everything in sight with the quickness.

But in general wouldn’t you say dodge is doing very well as a product line? I personally would like ford to come back out with some ohv new tech v8’s from 6-7.3L (I know the 7.3 is now out in trucks) in various models.

I’d love a v8 Durango, Ram, challenger, charger, etc etc. great cars
