I am in the process of installing a new clutch. I've got everything unbolted and trans slid back but there is not enough room for it to come back so the input shaft slides out of the clutch... Bell housing is buried into floorpan and engine can't tilt anymore.... What do I need to do to get this thing out so I can quit cursing ford engineers that designed this issue. Do you have to cram your hand in the bellhousing and separate it from trans for it to come out? I'm stumped and been fighting it for over an hour now. Please any experienced advice is greatly appreciated as my car is hung on lift at this time.
Thanks in advance!

You need to twist it back and forth hard. Takes 2 people. one to hold tail and another to grasp housing and twist while the other pulls out.

Also make sure shifter base is in a forward gear if still on car.

Finally got it done. Ended up dropping engine kmember down and it came out.
Now I'm having the fun of getting slave cylinder bled out..... I sure miss the simple nature of working on fox body mustangs.
