New Assignment..

Well I got my new assignment today, 11th ACR, Fort Irwin, Ca Palehorse Detachment...I will be a OPFOR Observer/ Controller. Have to wait on a platoon sergeant slot to open to finish my platoon sergeant time, so the Regimental Command Sergeant Major hooked me up with this job til a slot comes available. I met the detachment 1SG today, seems like a pretty chill assignment and I am looking forward into learning and doing something different for a change.

I was stationed at Edwards AFB for four years, all I can say is I hope you like sand.

Well your going to be an OC right? I hear they are on the big boy program, so I'm sure it's not that bad. Fort Polk...now that would suck.

I'm so sorry for you. Chill job and nice base...but there's nothing within about 30 miles of Ft Irwin. However, if I remember right Vegas is only 3-4hrs away.
