This is super cool. You went further than I did with my 86 notch build, which was a 3.8 C5 car and is now all 88GT w. T5 underneath. It's this kind of home-built stuff that still remains the heart of this hobby. I love that you didn't wuss out and go carb and that you'd challenge yourself with an IRS build at home. Personally, I want stick axle bc I drag race alot and, it's in character for this shotgun-on-casters I'm building. I also wanted to save the so-boring-it's beautiful Sand Beige paint on tan interior.
OMG! I would love an ‘86 notch in beige. There was one just like that for sale locally last week, but I checked and it’s gone already. Are you gonna put the Marchals on the front? GT front bumper?
I have a set of pretty much new Marchals laying around somewhere, complete with the covers
Can't do bumper tinsel...that'll give it away. I'm not even putting badges on this thing. The glasspack exhaust it has currently might be a bit of a giveaway. I've been looking for a clean inexpensive notch for nearly ten years, scratching that itch that was created when I sold my '79 Ghia TRX 4-speed notch long ago.

Cobra brakes.... after a year I was metal to metal at the right rear corner. The other three weren’t much better. Regular parts store replacements for now. Hopefully they last a little bit longer.

Thats pretty cool. Those 351w have a good amount of power and plenty of tq. Really gets the wagon moving i see in your videos
The Daddywagon moves pretty good but I think it needs a bit more power... go figure. In the vids taken from my brother’s ‘15 GT you can see that his heavier car beats me hands down. Considering the dish in the stock 351w pistons, I think a nice rebuild with a .030 overbore and more compression in front of a t56 would be really nice. Add to that front Brembos and some cosmetic restoration and I might be done!.. might!

No forced induction for this one. I love driving it... daily. My brother had a Z06 that was just too hard to push to the edge. You lost traction abruptly. I saw an episode of wheeler dealers with the same generation Z06 and it was the same. Spun out on the track. The Daddywagon right now is very streetable. I know where the limits are for the most part and it’s not scary to drive. I just need a little bit more power, and a double overdrive close ratio 6 speed gearbox!
