Hello everyone. I am a new member here and I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Vince and I live in New Jersey. 2 weeks ago I purchased a 2013 white BOSS 302 Mustang. From the CARFAX it was originally from Texas. The serial number on the intake manifold is 3023. There is a sticker on the passenger shock tower that says "BOSS Registry 0531". It has a white painted shock tower brace and some sort of aftermarket flat bottom steering wheel. I don't care for either so I have purchased new Ford BOSS 302 replacements for both. I am more familiar with Fox Body Mustangs. Currently I have a 1987 Notchback, a 1988 SSP ex Washington State Patrol Mustang and a 2001 DHG Bullitt. I will be selling two of those 3 for garage space and to help off set the BOSS cost.
I'm sure I'll have numerous questions as I tinker around with my new BOSS. One question is...I changed the oil and filter last weekend. While I was underneath my BOSS I noticed some blue painters tape on the inner side of my front brake calipers. It looks like they were painted red. What are/is the normal color of the BOSS Brembo brake calipers?

Welcome to the forums. Great starting off platforms and the 302s are sharp. The calipers ;oem; should be slate grey with Brembo in red.

Welcome, congratulations on the Boss. I would keep the 87 notch I still miss my 91 notch. The stock Brembo's like said above are slate grey and look old in my opinion if they are painted well I would leave them unless you're going for a complete stock look.

Welcome to SVTP! Nice move ordering the regular Boss steering wheel. Enjoy your Boss!

The only other reason I'd replace those calipers is if the previous owner did a not-so-good job with the painting.

Here’s the previous owner: looks like he has some parts for you.

Vince, I would call AutoNation in Houston tomorrow and try to connect with him. It sounds like he's still employed there. I'm going to send you an email, as well.

An '03 Cobra and a Raptor. I'm envious! What color is your Cobra?
