So lets start about 2 weeks ago at the MIR track rental.. ran the car down there with my set up and a 3c converter from Chris.. at the end of the event the trans was leaking fluid and I towed her back home and over to Adam's shop Rev Automotive here in MD.. Ronnie and Adam, dropped the trans and sent it out to be looked at. we also sent the 3c back to Chris for his input.

well the after the trans shop open her up we found a couple problems so we fixed those and also installed the Stage 2 clutches from Exedy just because we were inside it.

Chris sent a new converter out asap within 1 day and this time we stepped up to a 5c.. Well Adam and his team installed everything back in quickly and Adam spend 3 hours re-turning the trans shift points and pressure numbers.

I drove the car yesterday for the first time since the trans went and MAN this 5c is way better I think on the street. it picks up way faster then that 3c.

Today we had a track rental at Cecil so I drove the car up 30 miles to see how she performs.

best run was with a 3300rpm launch off the two step..
60ft 1.56
1/8 7.29 et
1/8 94.24 mph

1/4 11.44 ET
1/4 117.97 MPH

after reviewing the logs it looks like is going pass the finish line on the top end at only 6100rpm in 4th gear.. all shifts were at 6900 to 7000rpm. A/F and Timing was right on.

i'm thinking that the 373 gears are not going to work and we are going to step up to at least 410's or maybe a little higher..

I think that is exactly the rpm I figured it was crossing at, lol.

I think 4.10s (4.30s???) are in your future.

yup, we wanted to see today and that was the outcome.. we will see how it goes over the winter.. I think cams and Boss Intake could be in the future also

Go 3:31s and 28s you will go faster

^ This was my other suggestion. Maybe back it down to a 3.31 and cross the stripe at the top of 3rd. I think either a 3.31 or a 4.10/4.30 would make better times than your 3.73s.

Looks like you would cross at 7200 in 3rd with 3.31s. Or 6700 in 4th with 4.10s or 7000 with 4.30s.

I think a higher gear is the way i'm going.. if I do the 4.10s and Boss intake I think the car should fly..

Congratulations on new best. I told ya 22" tall slicks will give you the perfect gear efficiency. Lol, I think the 4.10's should get you closer to your goal(or the goal I set for you :))

well with the new tires sitting in the garage waiting to go on the rims, I think the gears would be the cheaper way. thanks for OUR new goals lol.

the temps were a little cooler today then the last run, but this track sits higher on the sea level then MIR. so I would think it would even out..

Glad it is all back together. Sounds like the 5C is a better match for your setup. Nice 60 BTW....

Well, to be honest I couldn't find any 22" slicks for a 15" rim except one that said FWD on it, would lose all advantages backing down the track. If you can go 11.20@ 118 backing down the track I'd drive up just to shake your hand. :)

I don't believe the 3-4 shift is hurting you much if at all. Have you and your tuner tried running 1st gear out a little higher because it's such a steep drop on the 1-2 shift? On mine, basically a tune, tire, converter car, it runs quicker shifting 1-2 @7250 and 2-3,3-4 @7000(O.K. I have 28.9" tires and 3.15 gears I never see the 3-4...:)). But iirc the power under the curve after 1-2 was a good bit better with the higher shift(4500-7000 2-3 vs 4800-7000 2-3)

CONGRATS!!!!
I'm going with 5c as well when I do my manual to auto swap.
I have 3.73's as well. I will see how they do then probably swap them out when I build up the rear.
