    Cab Fit

Project now is to get cab in proper position. Quite the chore for sure. Up, down, forwards, back, side to side etc. Because I dropped it down over frame I have to move it up a touch to get hood to clear.

Considering a swap of one of these into my 1966 Mustang......Where are you looking to find wrecked trucks?

Wrecked vehicles for sale can be found at Salvage Cars For Sale, Wrecked and Damaged Vehicles | Worldwide Auto. My advise is to only buy one that "lot drives" so you know you have a drivetrain and electronics that work.

I am working on a project with a wrecked 2011 F150 Ecoboost 4x4 that I got from WWA for $10K. It starts and lot drives, but it did need a new radiator, battery, and intercooler to run for any length of time.

Be advised that today there are no aftermarket controls or wiring that will let the 3.5L Ecoboost run with the 6R80 trans. Ford Racing does plan to sell a engine-only and off-road only control pack sometime in the near future. And F.A.S.T. has made an engine run in at least one show car. But, either way, you are looking at a lot of expense in addition to just getting a running drivetrain.

EcoBoostF150, hope you are getting better and back in your garage working real soon!

    Walt

as far as I know no one makes any standalone systems for the eco-boost or the 6.2l.
I have swapped several 6.2l engines in the past 6 months into older ford cars.
I used 99 mustang gt pcm's with 4.6l harness, using edis/coils, the cam shaft timing gear is different so I cnc'd a gear to fit my driver side cam with the pip notch and used the factory 4.6l sensor and a crank gear mounted behind the balancer, of course the computer needs to be tuned for cubic inches but this might be something that will help you out, transmissions? I used the factory 4 speeds and a couple different tko 5 speed transmissions.

I am well aware of no reasonable priced aftermarket avail (there is actually one aftermarket setup but it costs over 10k)

Pretty sure I have a handle on what all is needed to make this work in my '66

Its been a long time since any updates! After the initial test drive and a 2nd longer drive around 55 miles it was time to get back on the project. I knew from beginning I would have a issue with tire fitment as the new trucks have a much wider track width. Beginning of February 2016 I ordered a set of custom wheels. And while waiting the 14+ weeks it took to get the wheels I started yet another EcoProject. Maybe foolish but needed a nice daily driver. This time a pretty nice to start with 1966 F250 Ranger ( A very rare truck) Starting off with a 2015 3.5 Eco & 6R80 from a 4x4. Within a few hours of getting the 2015 engine it was sitting in place with great hope as it fit quite nicely with ZERO mods to frame.

But of course from there it turned into a typical for me much larger project. Pretty soon the front clip then the cab then the box were removed from frame. From there it snowballed into a full "Chassis" restoration. I have now had Eco 2 running but its still in the "build" stages. A HUGE thanks to walt460 for the wiring work.

Just today I installed box back on the Eco 1 Project just to make more room around shop. WIth a front end alignment needed before I can do more "test drives" as dropped the front a bunch with a lowering kit.

    Photo's soon.
