Not good enough for what is likely to be the last gas powered mustang generation. Sad.

Is it more of an update to the current model? I was hoping for an all new design.

Meh, I’ll need to see more pics. But being honest, the only time i fell in love initially the first time i seen the newest/next gen mustang mustang was 01/03/04, 13/14 and the gt350. Everything else had to grow on me.

I'm sure the S550 will drag on until Ford kills the V8 and goes EV.

FCA, I mean Stellantis - is killing the Hemi and replacing it with a I6-turbo.

Keep in mind, starting with the 2015 MY, Ford designs for a " world " market..
.
I just wonder if the glass roof will make a comeback?
One of the best features of the S197s I expected to make it's way to the S550, but here we are looking at the S650 about a decade later and not a thing besides a black roof.

stupid European pedestrian crash standards certainly ruin the front end of everything.
The american "standards" went up too. When you read "power dome hood" like on the last generation Ranger in 2002 (first I remember hearing it), but has followed on the F Series and the cars like the S197 2010 refresh as a feature it was more for pedestrians than looks, but they just happened to get the look better.

I think following Audi and Nissan with explosive bolts/and struts that lift the rear of the hood up after contact with a pedestrian are the best solution in order to keep aesthetics. But Ford will go for the cheapest option which is to restrain the designers, but sometimes those stupid requirements do lead to pleasing design changes that would not have happened otherwise.

I've seen better and I've also seen much worse. It doesn't immediately grab me with a "must have!" which means I might grow into it, but likelihood is not as high. Depends on what the higher-end (Shelby) variants look like.

At least it isn't (yet) an EV like the Mockery - which I 100% hate - but I'm sure that is coming at some point.

Never would they do that to an icon like Mustang.
Ford is due for a fun 2-door and a 4-door sedan. Both RWD biased and Coyote powered but unfortunately I think Ford is out of that game.

The land of commies and socialists!
I need to see it in person before I decide if I like it or not. Right now I am at meh. I think the 2015-17 is a better looking car.

I actually loved the C8 when I was reading about it. However, when I saw one in person I still loved the front and side profile. The rear end is awful IMOP though. Totally ruins the car as far as I am concerned as it looks blocky and doesn't fit the rest of the car.

Hopefully the performance pack GTs will add some aggressive features.

It’s hard to tell from what looks like a base model. A bit underwhelmed currently but there may be some potential and it’s due for a change up so we’ll see.

Until Ford gets serious about dropping 300# out of Mustang it’ll never live up to its potential.
3500# GTs and 3800# GT500s should be the goal.
