Big news yesterday was about Nike putting a shoe factory on the west side of Phoenix. Then the big news was how Nike buckled to pressure from that ****ing has-been Colin Kaepernick and pulled their "Betsy Ross" commemorative sneaker out of stores because he said the revolutionary flag was "offensive to himself and others" because it represents a time when slavery was prevalent in the country.

So AZ Governor had this to say:

Nike is a brand I'd never support. This weekend I was at an outlet store and certain places had Nike products and when my wife mentioned how she wouldn't even suggest the brand, I took it upon myself to let everyone know exactly why I'd sooner wear an old, b.o. laced undershirt than something from a company supporting a worthless crybaby, among other people and agendas. Then again I also told a clan of palestinians where to go this weekend. Seriously, it is on my do not even consider it list.

I own a few Nike products. I rececently was tempted to grab some Kyries for the gym two weekends ago at an outlet. Then I remembered Colin.

    **** them.

Adidas and New Ballance make great shoes. Nike is as "American" as Chicago Electric at Harbor Fright.

Hell, Nike got its start by basically ripping off Onitsuka.

So, he's upset that a shoe he never planned to purchase isn't getting released? Then in turn is pulling incentive for them to bring jobs to the area? This makes sense how?

    Yea its not that simple.

Arizona is in the top 5 of fastest growing economies. Pretty sure they can weather the storm of loosing 500 jobs.

He's not blocking Nike from moving to one of the best Business Regions in the country.

He's simply not going to subsidize the move with tax payer money.

I get that, but all cities do that.

I guess I'm looking at it from backwood Arkansas eyes, something similar happened here with AMAZON. Small town claiming to want to grow but doesn't want one of the biggest companies in the world to open a HQ here. I don't get it.

I would argue that he knows that much of Arizona is sick and ****ing tired of people being “offended” by the United States flag and any of its iterations. We have military bases here and a strong Republican tradition. And he’s not going to allow the use of taxpayer money to kowtow to a company That keeps enabling the American apologist offense culture. Furthermore, look at the jobs growth in Arizona, and in Maricopa county in particular, and compare to states that do further that anti-American agenda. Case closed.

    Better question -

Is Nike going to cancel their plans to open a facility in Phoniex because they lost some subsudies?

Also, just because everyone does it, doesn't mean they should. Amazon is also a great example of how companies use that mentality to their benifit. Amazon already knew where they wanted to go, it was just a mater of drumming up enthusiasm and getting those areas to pay for it.

So Nike may very much want to build a facility in AZ for reasons beyond the subsidizes, the free money was just gravy.

Yeah, I'm kinda with you on this one. It's hard to criticize AOC for telling Amazon to take a hike and support this too.

I have so many family members moving or wanting to move to AZ so I believe what both of you are saying. As I said I need to look at it from a different point of view than where I am. We need more jobs here, AZ can afford to tell a company to get bent. Must be nice lol.

On another note, is there a pic of the whole shoe? looks ugly af anyway.

The only nation in which this guy could make millions of dollars by throwing an oblonged shaped ball into the air and he protests their flag. Gotta love the irony. The Nike brass are cuckolds for bowing to this doofus.

Did a political study on Nike.

Lets just say, human rights violations and Nike go together like peanut butter and jelly. They are the worst of the worst for sweat shop factories. Which is ironic considering they ride that Kaep pony to market frequently.
