You would absolutely use 93-octane! All high-end performance cars, such as the Cobra, require the use of 93-octane.

run the lowest octane that you can, that will not ping. Lower the octane, more power your going to be able to get from your engine, since it will ignite easier. All octane is, is a resistance to ignition, enabling you to run higher compression..

Don't the older Cobras have knock sensors? If so, you could run 87 and when the knock is detected the ECU will cut timing to an safe level. You will lose HP in this scenario.
Go to 93 and the ECU will advance timing until knock is detected and pull it back into a safe zone. You should pick up HP here.

yeah i figured it needed 93 was just asking so i knew for sure or not. me and my wife are buying our first house and aftyer its built i get tio move up in vehicle. i was looking at a 99 cobra with some mods already done to it but she is worried about the gas mileage. so i might have to lower my standards and buy a gt or bullitt?

I get pretty good gas mileage. Right around 20 in town and about 23-24 on the highway. This of course changes drastically when my foot gets heavy.

nah i9 sold the escort haha to get this car. she is one of those ladies that overexaggerates alot. we make enough money and everything i just think she is thinking to much. we will see.. ill let ya know.
