Jules' death, while tragic, didn't require a fundamental redesign of F1 car cockpits to quasi-open cockpit. It was an over-reaction, just like when Indycar added those stupid rear wheel pods in reaction to Dan Wheldon's death. It's open wheel, open cockpit racing, and it comes with certain inherent risks. I think it's stupid for them to alter the foundations of the cars when there are safer forms of racing for people who don't want to accept those risks.
