Stripped my engine oil pan nut. I plan on changing out the pan in the future but need a temporary fix for now. What have you guys done in the past? I'm hearing tapping it is a good choice. Is there an oversized bolt that will tap itself in?
The oem drain bolt is M14-1.50 I believe. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Weld a nut to the outside of the pan. Grab the matching bolt to your newly welded nut and install.

Will an oversized self tapping bolt work? Can it spin the nut on the pan?
Is the pan metal or alluminum? Thanks!

Ended up just being a badly stripped drain plug bolt. The pan was fine. Installed a new bolt. Thanks for your input guys!
