I went the 3.73 route when I had mine, it greatly improved drivability. The stock gears weren't great for normal driving, felt like I needed to slip the clutch to get it going from a stop light.

When i 1st got my 2008 Gt500 the 1st things i did was the 3.73 drag pack and frpp handling kit. Hated the stock 3.31. Car was Night and day.

331s work well for me roll racing,60-180 pulls,the 410 is shit for that type of racing.High speed it a fear for most that only do the 1320

4.10s dont stop you from 180. So what's the real reason?

Maybe the gear is too much. Since 95% of driving is under 100mph.

If you drove you would know how a 4.10 gear is.It is a 1/4 mile gear.So what the real reason you dont understand that?

I have, and both 3.73 and 4.10s feel great. Sure its great for the 1/4, 1/2 and full mile.

The real question is why do you fear the gear?
Do you know your 6th gear is a .50?

180+ is 5th gear not 6th.The real question is how do YOU DO 180 in 6th gear with your 4.10 gear?

I have owned most of the late model Shelby variants and there is a reason why the 13 GT500 stays in my stable while I have moved a 2017 GT350 and a 2013 Viper out. The driving emotions it creates with the low end torque, manual trans and live axle simply can not be duplicated. Simply speaking, it is more fun than the new car. That being said, to stay relevant and to feel a sense of competitive edge on the road course, we all have to move towards the latest technology. The 13 car was the benchmark when it came out. The 20 car is an evolution to keep up with the current motorsport trends.
Good points.I drove my friends GT350 R,and that thing handles great!The trans shift smooth and everything.The 13-14 GT500 are monsters in a great way.You cant beat that feeling of rowing your own gears.

You have proven you dont know a thing about top end.You might want to stick with your 1320!!
Once again, is 6th gear to many for you? Simple math says it can be done. 180mph in 6th gear with 4.10s. Now the real fact is you would not know because the gear is too much for your taste. Which is fine.

We arent going by what you think math is,we are going by have YOU done it,and from the FEAR that you have shown,I would say you have NEVER been even close to that number.Thats just tooooo fast for ya.

I have not been 180mph. You are correct, but i have been 175mph with 3.73. So fact is it can be done.

So point is proven you are wrong. Based on what you do. Which you say is 60-180. 410s will get you there with no issues.

We were talking about the 4.10 gear remember?What gear were you in at 175?You have not proved a thing yet.

I was in 6th gear. 5th gear i run out around upper 150s.
2008 GT500
5th .80
6th .62

13/14
5th .74
6th .50

This is the benifits of the 13/14 transmission running 4.10s.

4th gear in my 14,im at 160.180 + im in 5th gear.

Im sure you are

Both are 1:1 4th gears so with 3.31s and 7000rpm in your 14 gives you the 160.

Were im at 3.73 @ 6500rpm in my 08 im upper 130s.

Part of the advantage is the 500 extra rpm.

But still comes back to the fear the gear. Your car will still do the 60-180 with ease with 3.73 or 410s. 410s may change that into 6th gear but still keeps you in the power band without lugging it.

Ive driven 13/14 cars with the 331s and luckily enough with 410s. And personally that car just feels so much better with 410s.

I dont know why you keep talking about the 3.73.We were talking about the 4.10.I dont see a 4.10 doing 180 +.The 331 is a top end gear.The 3.73 are quicker than the 331,i know that.But still comes back to fear the top end!!

4.10s @ 7000 RPM still gets you 180mph lol
