So finally been trying to enjoy my car this year and I noticed the car is making a weird noise and stumbling check engine light went on and then it went off and then I went back on again flashing and then stayed salad. I stopped where I was driving turned it around went to AutoZone had it scanned and basically said I needed a new coil pack or spark plug. I think this is strange considering I just had a new engine belt last July and it had new plugs put in. Is this normal for a heavily modded car was only a year old and brand new engine? I’m taking it to my shop this week to get it fixed I’m hoping it’s still covered under warranty. Any thoughts ? Thanks

Might help if you post some mods. But why not pull the plugs and check them.

Pull the plugs and check. Kinda heavy modded since your running an MMR motor imo.

Depending on the plug used, your going to want fresh plugs every spring and new ones after each track outing if you beating on it all night.

Atleast thats what I do. I would at a min throw new plugs in at the start of each summer.

Yes only thing was it wasn’t covered under warranty due to it being a pre existing part they waived the diagnostic fee though

FRPP used to offer an 8 pack of our coils for the price of 1 coil at the dealer. I picked one up. Thankfully at 50k Ive not needed to use it. But if you find one out there, its not a bad investment to have on hand.

Good to know thank you! Yeah guess it makes sense it was the original coil from the old engine which had 22k on it but with the modding and ew engine setup like everyone said check all that every spring when I take it out

    Ford Performance Mustang 4V Ignition Coil Set M-12029-4V (99-04 Cobra, Mach 1; 07-12 GT500)

Sorry, I totally misquoted the price: it looks like its the price of 2-3 retail coils. Depending on dealer pricing of course.

8 for the price of 3 is still a good deal haha. Comes out to about $30 bucks a coil as opposed to $80+tax per retail coil.
