2001 Convertible. I have a bad ignition transceiver. I got "Theft" unless I moved the tilt wheel up or down a few times. I have a broken / frayed wire from the transceiver to the harness. I have accomplished 99% of the removal process, but I can't figure out how to remove the connector from the connector adapter (it has one four pin connector in, adapter and one four pin connector out).

The hand drawings on the FSM don't provide any assistance on how to remove the PATS Transceiver connector (plus, it didn't mention that the module is attached with a Torx screw). Can anybody help an old man? I am really frustrated with this.

TIA. - Mark

Removal of the anti-theft transceiver module
  1. Remove the screw from the bottom of the transceiver module.
  2. NOTE: Only apply pressure or leverage below the key cylinder lower rib.
Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the module.

Is the car tuned? If so it might be easier to have your tuner write a tune with the PATS turned off.
