Heres a few pics of my engine cover of my daily 04 SS.

Before like it came with the car:

After 2 primer coats,and 3 metallic black:

Without the cover:

Metallic silver and red no clear yet:

that turned out great. how'd you do just the letters and the raised rails so good? couldn't have been just taped off

The rails where taped off and i cut the access tape with a razor blade. I sprayed some of the met. silver in the cap for the can and did that with a brush on the 3800. The red was auto touch up paint with the brush. It was the brightest i could find and i didnt need much so the touch up worked well.
