So I just had a new clutch, clutch plate, throw out bearing, pilot bearing, and throw out bearing retainer sleeve/tube installed (the stock one was broken). Well, I went to get the car back from the shop today and now it sounds worse than it did when I took it in! There is a very loud whirring/spooling noise from the clutch and shifter area, along with a rattling sound that seems to be coming from transmission. I have the stock t-45 trans and 3.73 gears. Short throw shifter. It NEVER made any noise other than a chirp from the TOB and pilot bearing and I NEVER had any noises from the transmission. It was also hard to get into 5th except when the rpm's were up and the clutch is super soft..... almost like pushing my foot into a tub of butter. I was bale to drive it a few blocks before i turned around and took it back. When I got back, the mechanic said he heard what I was talking about but didn't know what it was. Then it got stuck in reverse! WTF????? I know the transmission had to come out and the bell housing removed to get to the bearing retainer tube. Could they have completely screwed up my trans???? There is a very distinct shake/rattle/metalic sound coing from underneath. I'm so scared that this guy has Royaly f*cked up my car.

unfortunately not. It is now back at the shop and locked up until he returns from the holiday. I'm physically sick over all of this shit. I'm tempted to flatbed it to another shop and say "fix it". But, then I still have an outstanding debt with the first shop. They could then put a mechanics lien on my mustang. So I'm basically screwed. All I know is that it sounds like something wobbling underneath seemingly from the transmission. It didn't make this sound prior to the guy putting a new bearing retainer in. There is a very loud whine/whirring noise from the clutch now as well. It is brand new! I'm so pissed off man it isn't even funny. It is literally causing me to have a stress ulcer in my stomach.

Update: The shop has once again removed the transmission and took it back to the guy who replaced the TOB retainer sleeve. If he ordered the wrong retainer sleeve would this cause a knocking noise? Also..... what if he didn't bolt the drive shaft back up properly? It sounds almost like when the (cv joint?) yolk rattles, and most noticeable from a dead stop then it quietens down a bit. I'm worried that this mess may have soiled my taste for mustangs. In College my now ex drove stangs and NEVER had nay issues. Between us, we had two SN95 Cobra's, an '02 Mach 1, a stock SN95 GT, a Foxbody 5.0, and a Ford SVT Lightening. None of them gave us any issues.
