I do. Ill link a video when I get a chance to upload. NA SVT spec-ed my cams and was a huge help consulting me every step of the build.

I've got the biggest possible bore with the sleeves, 367ci (6 liters), 12:1 comp, 8k rpm and e85. Still working out issues with the tune and plenum volume but she's already making twin screw power. That's all ill say. Like I said you'll love it.

I know all the details of your build. I've seen that engine change hands a few times. Our heads are awfully close in terms of flow... your intake should make better low end due to runner length. But even with my 7.5" runners there's no shortage here either.

What's rare? The GT/GT500 heads are readily available as is the Cobra R lower. Also, aluminum GT blocks can be bought from Ford Racing. The most rare parts are the long tubes as they were custom built and frigggin' big.

Rare as in you typically don't see this stuff on this site at least.

Would GT aluminum blocks ever come down in price since they were put into (more than ford GT) mass prpduction and more readily available?

I doubt the GT dry sump castings will come down in price, being how limited those specific blocks are, but it won't surprise me if the 2011-2012 5.4 and 13-14 (and hopefully beyond) 5.8 aluminum Mustang GT500 castings come down in price eventually, just like the Terminator drivetrains from wrecked cars came down in price to reasonable levels eventually.

I'm waiting for a 13-14 GT500 longblock, shortblock or bare block to come down in price. That's gonna be the next motor in my car. I'm not gonna put a complete GT500 engine in my car with the blower on top and everything.... I'm gonna keep it like a 99 cobra, except its gonna be a 5.8 instead of a 4.6. I think that would be the best route to go instead of spending a ton of money to build a 5.3 big bore stroker using the boss 5.0 block and be forced to switch from aluminum to iron. I'd rather deal with the extra challenges associated with the taller deck motor instead of going with an iron block to get a decent amount of extra displacement.

And when Ford ditches this architecture altogether and moves to the coyote and boss 6.2 (and maybe others), they'll really come down in price. Right now, the GT500 is the last hold out with the old school 4V architecture. It'll get cheap eventually.

What I want to know is: when will they start making decent aftermarket parts like heads and intakes for the ol' 4V in abundance like they do the LS platform.

It frustrates me to the Nth degree that no one makes a relatively affordable off the shelf performance street intake for the 5.4. You either have to get a custom sheet metal piece, or cobble one together from a Cobra R lower, or an Australian Boss 290. Unacceptable. Heads, on the other hand...it would be nice, but it's not the end of the world.

Aftermarket heads would offer little gains over the factory offerings. Basically you would spend a lotta cash for little gain. Intakes are what we need but the market isn't large enough to support one for the 5.4 and probably not even the 4.6.

The gt500, 5.4 blocks are available for around $4k.

New teaser pic

It's a slow process, but I've acquired a few more pieces and parts...

Arise from the dead! Moving forward after yet another several year hiatus. Coilovers, AJE k-member, and AJE lca's installed. Will try to level out today. More pics to come.

I’m ready to really get going on my 5.4, I wish I could have found an aluminum block but I really can’t complain about getting the short block for $100
