I haven`t been on here in some time. I`ll be installing new spring into my 97 Cobra and the question is do I require a spring compressor to do this? Or can they safely be just jacked up into place by the A arm?

Just be careful and slow taking the old ones out, put a jack under them, remove the bolt and let it down slow and you should be fine.

Like everyone has already said, no compressor is required. You can simply drop the front a-arms slowly and pull the springs out. The same can be done with the rear lower control arms. Just be sure you lower the jack really slow to avoid the spring popping out.

They have you covered. Don't waste money in a spring compressor. I'm the rear, take the bottom shock bolts out, lower the rear end, bam, springs come right out. Front, unbolt the top shock bolts, sway bar mount, drops right out.
