RYR had quite a run in the late 90's early 2000's with Dale Jarret, Ernie Ervin, and the late Dave Allison.

They were that eras equivalent of a modern day Hendrick or Gibbs organization.

At least they are still in the engine programs, supplying most if not all Ford engines on the many different levels of NASCAR.

Sad news indeed. He and Roush probably helped Ford understand more about cylinder head airflow than anyone. Getting that kind of power, peak power no less near 9000 RPM on a 358ci pushrod engine is no easy feat.

Can you imagine if Yates convinced NASCAR to allow the modular in?
