I think my biggest concern about a new dodge would be are they giving you enough discount for the depreciation hit. Maybe Im not up to speed but as mentioned seems they initially fall a little harder than an F150

When I bought my new 2015 1500 sticker on it was 32k (express quad cab 2wd), I paid 27k for it and traded it a year later and was given 25k trade. Sure I lost 2 grand but I knew trading a vehicle after 1 year of ownership wasn't gonna net me the best result for my money. I was happy with the deal though.

The land of commies and socialists!
Thanks to everyone who responded with their experiences of owning, leasing and driving Ram 1500s. Just about everything you've said helps a lot.

With that said I am leaning harder in that direction and will probably be test driving a little more in the not to distant future to help finalize my decision.

Thanks again.

I have a 19 ram Laramie 1500 with 3.92 gearing and most the bells and whistles. All the tech stuff like self parking, adaptive cruise etc, air suspension, 12 inch screen. Pretty much everything you can get but the pano roof and ram boxes which I would have got if I could have but in December of 18 finding a black appearance package truck was hard.

so far I’ve had no issues really and I have 58k miles on it. I did recently take it for a miss fire on cyl 8 but it was a cold start issue that was resolved with an update that was done under warranty.

outside of that I love the truck. It’s a gas hog but with a level and oversized tires I still manage 16-17 pending on time of year and how fast I drive. The interior has been top shelf, though I’m curious to see the new F150 interior but I would wager it’s a coin toss still. The truck is super comfortable to drive and the air suspension was something I was hesitant about but have come to love. Great for loading up stuff in the bed or a trailer, fitting in low parking garages, and even great for the mother in law to easily get in while in entry exit mode.

I would gladly buy a ram again which I laugh about as for every previous generation of them I did nothing but talk trash about their quality but I am eating crow now or maybe the 5th Gen is just a huge step up. My father who is a Ford fan first liked it so much he walked from a deal on an F150 and picked up a 19 limited shortly after driving mine.

If I would want for anything out of it, I’d say a bit more power would be nice but isn’t desperately needed and some better fuel economy.

What did you do about “leveling” your truck with the air ride? Your post made me go buy one lol so I blame you.

I have been a Ford Guy for many years.....half dozen Crown Vics and several Mustangs with a 2004 Marauder thrown in.....a couple million miles and zero complaints but I've just never been a Ford truck fan!!

I've had two RAMs...a 2004 that I racked up 186K miles and presently a 2008 BIG HORN with 121K miles on it........Gas, Oil, Brakes and Tires...no complaints!! ;):)

My neighbor has had several Ford trucks and had a BUNCH of problems from "Ho-Hum" performance to broken spark plugs to bad fuel mileage on his current V-6 EcoBoost.......he even had a bad O2 sensor on a 2003 Lightning that he couldn't get to on the passenger's side........dealer had to take the fender off to get at it he said (REALLY??)...wow!!

I have a friend who's had 4 RAMs and is presently negotiating for a 5th one.......he's had no problems either!!:D

I guess I'll get another used one in time but for now my 2008 is just fine!!:D

Love it in the white! Revel performance sells a leveling kit with spacers so the air struts stay compressed and adjustable links for the air level sensors.

I’m running the level links only right now because I haven’t had time to install the pucks. The ride is noticeably more rough with just the links so I want to throw the pucks in soon so I can get the softer ride back.

i’ve heard that on the forum. Definitely keep me updated on if the ride returns with the pucks. I presume once you have the pucks in, there is no need for the links anymore to fool the sensors?

I agree on the white. Cant wait to throw some 295/45R22 Ridge Graps on there soon. Hopefully they fit fine with it still “stock.” They arent “that” much bigger than factory so i have faith that it will be ok.

Tell you what though, pricing A/T tires for 22 inch wheels will get your attention real quick.
