Rear Drum Brakes Pulsing

I've got a '91 Mustang GT and the rear of the car began to shudder when applying the brakes.

So I went ahead and replaced both the front and rear brakes (the front needed it anyway) but now the brake is dragging on the passenger rear wheel.

I've adjusted the brakes, made sure the shoes were in the correct position (primary and secondary) tried two sets of drums because I thought the drum may have been out of round.

And now I've replaced the axle thinking maybe it had bent somehow.

At this point I don't know what the hell to do.

Could it be a wheel bearing?

ANY help would be appreciated.

What did you replace in the rear? Did u do wheel cylinders

Didn't do wheel cylinders since they weren't leaking.

Replaced everything else at this point but the wheel cylinders and the wheel bearings.

Drums, shoes, and now the axle.

Gone through two sets of different drums and shoes and it's still doing it.

So I'm feeling rather.. umm... ridiculous now.

I THINK I've solved my problem.

I tried one last time to adjust the shoes, but noticed the star wheel was a little tough to turn out sometimes and thought, "Maybe that wheel is not adjusting and dragging?"

SO not only did I liberally lubricate the adjuster wheel, I also put anti-seize on the backing plate for all the shoes (which I hadn't done either) and guess what... no more dragging!

Sigh.

I drove it about 600 miles from Austin to Houston and not one hiccup and the brakes worked perfectly.

So I guess the moral of the story is... never forget lube.
