There is no doubt there are down sides to EVs and using all the available performance. But as some of us who popped an engine know ICE engines have their own issues when you beat on them, especially the ones running 8's at 170. Can't afford either but DAMN, not much if anything you'll lose to on the street.

Lets see it run a Demon light to light.

What an amazing performance. This thing costs all the money, but man does it back it up going down the road.

Gonna be a very real chance of pulling up to a stop light in your 9 second sedan and getting smoked by another 9 second sedan in the other lane, pretty soon.

Imagine driving a 9 second (at the track) Charger or V and just getting smacked down by a Plaid or Lucid Air at any intersection. Imagine owning ANY of the current Hypercars and trying to justify its performance compared to this? Crazy times.

Honestly fun concept but Elon is trolling if he thinks that'll ever be street legal as represented in that video. Though it'd be fun to blast people that take too long to cross the crosswalk on the way out. Eco version of rolling coal?

Looking at that design of the Nevera, I couldn't help but wish the C8 Vette looked like that. It's a good looking design and actually, to me, looks more like a traditional Corvette than the C8 does.

After watching that video in its entirety, @quad, I am AMAZED at the technology in the car. Wow! "Nothing is carried over from a conventional car."

and... nobody will give them a 2nd look.. they won’t be comfortable .. etc
LOL at driving an 8 sec ICE car from coast to coast.
Would get old after the first quarter mile.
How many 8 second ICE cars legitimately have functional A/C?
This isn’t true street with a 30 mile cruise…

There is no question electric cars have and will commoditize acceleration and performance. In the future, people will drive ICE because of its flaws...not because of any performance advantage. The ICE experience will be more about driver emotion and involvement. Banging gears (be it DCT or manual IMO), screaming rpms, paint shaking cams, fighting for traction, etc. These will be the ICE attributes that endure and will continue to be sought after until governments ban all ICEs from the road...which will make the best examples sky rocket in value lol.

I'm curious if high end builders will figure out how to add "soul" to EV's...instead of just stupid fast appliances.
IMO, the company that figures that out, will make a big pile of money.
And hopefully that tech will trickle down to the masses.
