S197/ S550 dash retrofit?

I am also interested in putting an S197 or S550 dash into my SN95. I know the dimensions are a tad bit off, from all that I have gathered an S197 dash is 55in in width and the SN95 dash is almost at 54. I figured if you take the metal dash frame from an SN95 and bolt it up to an S197 molding and make trims wherever necessary I feel like it would fit.
