S7 Really???????
Saleens been around the American Lemans Series since it introduced the S7 & they cant even put a fight up with the Corvettes...sorry to say that. But Ferrari just put a nasty beating to Corvette & they only tried it for 2 years. Forget it. All that cash for an S7.....better be a race winning race car.

very tough call.......time to break it down to Pros and Cons...

GT: Pro's...........
Supercharged
DOHC V8
6-speed tranny
less than 45 inches tall
Aerodynamic
cost around $150,000
Co-Designed by SVT
less than 500 will ever be built
HERITAGE

GT: Con's............
Made by Ford.........(i can see the recalls already...jk)
Not 40 inches tall like the orginals
Supercharger wear and tear on a ford engine....unknown
will we see it in American Lemans Series at all???

S7: Pro's............
All american 427 ci. V8
Racecraft body
Extremely lightweight
Aerodynamic as hell (with enough downforce to keep it stuck to a tunnel wall if it could get to 160mph....scientifically proven)
unbelievable speed
+1.0g lateral g's
that cool roof scoop that actaully works
proven itself in American LeMans Series Races
Saleen name

S7 Con's..............
Pushrod motor (ofcourse this has to be comin from a DOHC 03' Cobra owner)
$$$......(past $250,000)
ground clearance.....one curb = thousands $ in repair work

In conclusion if it was up to me, I would take the S7 by a fraction over the Ford GT, but both are the best american supercars to come out in recent years......

Very close, but I would go with the S7 based entirely on looks. The GT is based on the same platform as the S7. Their suspensions are the same. The GT's motor is better technology with a proven mod-friendliness (ie. '03 Cobra). The GT looks pretty damn cool, but the S7 is just plain awesome looking, especially in Lizstick Red. If I won the Lotto, I'd buy both.

BTW, from what I've heard and read, the GT should be about $120,000, but might be below $100,000. And, who knows what the dealers are gonna do to the price. The S7 is a $400,000 car. I'd still buy it IF I won the Lotto.

I think it was blueovelnews.com that recently reported $125K for the GT.

If price was no consideration, I'd take both and then get the GT40 that won LeMans to put it in my living room. I'd also hire Robert Yates to do my motors and Jack Roush to help with the crew (but he couldn't fly the jet).
