Began work on the top rail... look how different and powdery that paint looks!

Same shot from a different angle... a remarkable difference in reflection.

Engine bay after a very thorough and LONG cleaning. That was a JOB!

The final product... I wound up painting the side mirrors as well.. quite a transformation.

I used Meguair's 105/205 for compounding/polishing and many many lake country orange pads and white pads.

Duragloss 105 to seal.

Armor All Outlast Trim restore on all plastics.

Hope you enjoyed!

Wow that looks killer. My fiancee had one of those in high school and of the few times we have seen one in person she goes crazy.

What did you pay for it?

Thanks man, I paid around 4k for it but at this point have about 6k in it. I had to do a lot of work to it mechanically. Replaced power steering boots, brake lines, valve cover gasket, clutch, main seal, undershift boot, adjusted linkage, reverse trans switch, sunroof seal etc.

I've seen these go for more than 6k and at this point I imagine I would at least break even. Not too many of these around in this shape.

The car was in good stock form before I got it, but it needed a lot of TLC and work to bring it back to life.

Excellent job! Keep it for awhile, prices will slowly go up the more rare they become. I want to do the same thing with a 1g Talon TSi.

Your mom
Had a '79 Gen I and then an '82 Gen II. I loved them both, even though they were only 8v.

Yeah I had an '84 in high school... loved the car which is why I searched for a while for this one.

Strangely I've grown since high school... who wouldda thought! So the car is a lot smaller than I remember :)
