This! I don't trust SCT one bit and after all the BS that's happened over the last 1-2 years I am going moates quarterhorse.
I have advocated going that route, but after looking it all over and the lack of a real roadmap for beginners, I decided it was just too much hassle. The tools are not even guaranteed to be supported in the future and what files to load are unclear. You are at the mercy of anyone who may or may not chose to help you.

The first programming language I learned was assembly, but it still looks like too much to me.

I am looking at Steeda and SCT now.

I understand where you're coming from. I almost didn't pull the trigger but after reading The Ultimate Ford EFI Tuning Guide by Don LaSota I bought a Quarterhorse.

His book is geared towards Binary Editor but a lot of terms are explained and so is the process. Right now the plan is to use Tuner Pro RT and go from there. Hopefully all goes as planned and I can have control of my ECU without any BS.

You're at the mercy of any one helping really. I made friends with someone that had never tuned before and went with the Quarterhorse set up. Took him a bit, but he figured it out and has the car running pretty well last I heard.

As for SCT, I was recently on the forum looking for something and a post I made in 2019 was still on page 1. It's a ghost town over there. There's no support.

When I say look elsewhere, I'm not saying as someone that reads forums. I'm saying it as someone that's used SCT for 13 years and has had what I've had access to change stripped away. Really the only reason I have it still is because I can't sell and transfer it to anyone else.

I updated my Advantage 3 software the other day and still have full access to everything. I'm prepared to drop coin on a Quarter Horse or something ok the like as I feel SCT may choose to restrict access at some point.
