I was looking at a 373 gears and SCT tuner kit. What do you guys think? Are these tuners any good? Are 373 gears good for around town and some highway?I am not building a drag car just a fun car LOL.

If you arent planning on adding a blower or a turbo later on, install the 4.10's instead of the 3.73's. You'll turn ~2400rpm in 5th gear with the 4.10's at 100kph. The 3.73's turn about 2250-2300 if I recall.

The SCT tuner wont do much for you really IMO unless you are planning on getting a custom dyno tune.

Gears, full exhaust (mid pipe plus cat back) and headers will get you the most increase in seat-of-the-pants power and real horsepower gains

The (can) SCT tunes are very safe, you will not notice much gain at all. You will need a dyno tune or a good mail tune to get any real power out of the car. I had 3.73's in my car for about 6 months and diched them for the 4.30's. These 4v love steep gears. I wouldn't go 3.73, I would go 4.10 or steeper. That is your best bang for the buck. Gears wake theses cars up!

The car is a 97 cobra and I`m not building a drag car but a fun car lol.Right now I can go 160 km/h in third and 240 km/h in 5th and not red line. But I drove my sons 5.0 with the 373 gears and liked it.I like to drive on the highway and don`t want to have the car over 3,000rpm to do the speed limit of 110km/h and I usely drive about 130-140 km/h.So now I wonder if the 373gears or the 410 gears are for me.
