I hear bits & pieces on what the Dems want to do..and it bothers me. Another issue- the states may enact legislation for their citizens... Legally they could tax the hell out of ammo..Prohibit certain calibers, new magazines.. but I don't know whether they could do away with older stuff as it would be an "ex post facto" issue -if I spelled that correctly..308 will always be legal ammo as that is the most popular hunting caliber.. NATO-.223 is not. Taking that into consideration, I have plenty of ammo and my handguns are such...Glock 29 for example can fit....357 Sig and .40 S&W barrel depending on ammo availability. One may want to consider taking preemptive measures on such things if you live in one of those states. Remember state can pass anything it wants..BUT if conflicts with Fed law then the appellate process begins but that process can take years to reach US supreme ct.

Since I no longer shoot, I am rethinking whether I want to sell my collection...

    Thoughts anyone??

No, they'll never go away. There's a fundamental difference between people in this country. Some want freedom, some don't. Those that don't will always want to take away your guns.

On topic: NY for example will not sell pistol ammo to anyone without a pistol permit...even though there are 357 lever actions, 44mag levers etc. Yet they don't require a pistol permit to buy .22lr

Off topic: 308 is not the most popular hunting cartridge...not sure it is even in the top 3

.308 in # 8 on this list. I didn't see it on Top 10 lists for Big Game.

I don't understand you taking issue with speculated gun control laws when you say that you are considering selling your guns.

Fast action by the Dems after the mid-terms to push for more gun control/restrictions is not surprising. Pisses me off. But expected. We all know the Dems/Libs will continue to try to tighten the controls/restrictions until they're so tight that gun ownership starts to decline.

There are rights that Americans must be willing to stand for.

    Freedom of religion

    Freedom of speech

    The 2nd Amendment in totality

...and many more. The three I listed are the ones constantly under attack. Every now and then I wonder when the next Boston Tea Party or Fort Sumpter sized event will occur.

Don't misunderstand me, I do not want to see America divided and fighting. I want to see our people and our elected government hold onto the values this Country was established upon. I much prefer to vote the liberal left out of the picture.

I am baffled when I try to understand the ideology of the so called progressive left, liberals, etc. They are brainwashed, and I have no idea what has blinded them. These people are willing to trade their independence for things that are in my opinion, insane.

We have enough laws in the US. The problem is that most laws are not enforced. The laws that are enforced seem to be a source of revenue and nothing more. Again, this is me on a rant, but that is how things appear.

The gov can not Constitutionally unduly tax the exercise of a fundamental right.

    Oregon's new gun control SB 501 .
Limits the purchase of ammunition to 20 rounds a month , and only if you have a permit .
No mags that hold more than 5 rounds ....
I will find the article and post a link in a few .

And get ready to get slapped down by the US Supreme Court

As I would counter sue and say that all state and local law enforcement are under the same rules and laws. And guess what there isn't to many 5 shot handguns out there, morons.

It will go away when 2A supporters get off their lazy fat assess and do something about it. It's been 80 years of inaction so let's face it....it's never happening.

Honestly I think you guys are starting to get behind on the fighting... Day by day your laws are becoming worse than Canada when it comes to gun rights in many cities/states. I don't mean this as a provocation just stating what I witness from the side lines. It's real and its scary. Your liberals need to be stopped but they are growing like the god damn weeds they are.
