Setting Sport Mode

I have a '14 Vert with the 821A package and finally decided to try some of the settings, a little late, I know. Hold the brake, double tap the launch control button, should set up Sport, right?
Tried it right after a cold start, held the brake, tap, nothing on screen, tap again still nothing.
Tried it later when warm, first tap, LC came up on screen, tap again it went away. Seemed to feel different, as in better. Don't know.
Am I doing it right, or missing something?? Any help appreciated. Thank-you

Hold the brake, double tap traction control button by the shifter, that'll get you in sport mode.
The dash readout will tell you when you're there.
You can also do it while you're rolling. Lightly apply brake, double tap, you're there!

It only shows on the info screen for a couple of seconds and then you see the icon of the dude or dudess doing a huge burnout. Brakes and holding the traction control button for a few seconds turns everything off.
