I have cut myself open more then a few times, fallen from a tree house onto a barb wire fence, broken a hammer on my finger and a slew of other crap and nothing compares to this.

I have been going to physical therapy twice a week for four weeks and saw drastic improvement only to do a 180 today and damn near be floored by the pain. I am stuck waiting till the 20th to see my doctor before I can get an MRI and am at my wits end as to what can be done in between to at least ease my pain.

Nothing over the counter is helping in regards to pain killers, ice has minimal effect and stretching is pointless. I am about to hit myself in the face with a brick to take my mind off my leg pain.

If anyone can offer up some exercise, stretch, home therapy it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

That's where I started when this first hit me in February. Nothing that they did worked and I felt like they were trying to sell me different treatments. I had much better results with physical therapy.

I can't speak for your area, but the one here saved my wife from surgery about 15 years ago.
Good luck, hope you find relief.

I had a microdiscectomy for a herniated disc. Fixed my sciatic pain.

My wife is pregnant again and is having the sciatic pain, she's going to go to a chiropractor because a bunch of her mom friends said it grow tremendously. Don't know if that applies to non pregnant folk.

I know how you feel I had the same issue about 6 months ago. There really isn't anything you can take over the counter that will take the pain away. I literally had to crawl to my bathroom when I needed to use it and it took 15-20 mins to make it there. The bathroom was 10 feet away. See if you can get to the dr and get a torridol shot. You will be glad you did. I had to give up running and boxing as sports. They aggravated my back so much after the flare ups. Now I just cycle to stay physically fit. Good luck man and try to tough it out. Took me nearly 1 month before i tried to lift anything off the ground.

I had similar pain levels when I crushed three discs way back in the 80's

Pain was absolutely unbearable. Couldn't even stand. My doctor at the time prescribed some atomic muscle relaxants and a tiny little pill named Talwin.it's synthetic Morphine. I started out taking two pills every four hours and had tapered off to one pill twice a day.

But I did require surgery. Three discs removed. And this was done so long ago my Doctor was named Fred, and he wore an animal skin and used a stone hammer.

Ask you doctor to prescribe a powerful opiate to control the pain until you can actually see a Neurosurgeon and get the repair done. You might even require Morphine or Oxycontin.

What really pisses me off about my situation is that I made some pretty drastic improvements in the last few weeks at physical therapy and for no reason at all I was damn near on the floor this afternoon.

If I didn't have this relapse I would think I just have a nerve problem but now I'm really starting to think it's disc related and was healing only to have me some how re-injure it.

I had good and bad days after trying to pull a large rock toward me while bent over. Stretching didn't help at all. No physical activity helped. It was a herniated lower back disc. It required rest and time to heal. Don't do anything that'll irritate it if it's the same issue. If you're not sure, get it checked so you know how to treat it.
