Yes I know the shaker is functional but unless your roll racing all of the time I don't see how it's that great. You need to be moving at a pretty good speed for air to be cramming in there

To be "ramming" air, yes, you need to be moving. But with that shaker, you have a direct feed to 100% fresh air. Most guys have to settle for CAIs that will get them turbulent "fender" air.

Whatttttttt. So your trying to switch to a different setup because you think you'll gain more power through a different air intake setup? You do realize that the stock intake with a K&N filter, provides nearly the same power gains as any of the RAI or CAI setups right?

The shaker was put on the car for looks, not to provide performance gains. If your looking for performance gains, look elsewhere on the car.

hell just buy a diff car....there are certain things that should never be removed from a Mach IMHO, and that's one of them!

Hard to beat the view of over the hood from the drivers seat. I liked the scoop so much I installed one on my 04GT Vert and later traded it for the Mach.

I feel bad now, i bought a HO Fibertrend 2.5" Cowl hood. Since i put on the FR500 intake, i didn't want to bother making a bracket to make the shaker fit.

Shame shame OP!!! I'm with the others do not touch the shaker!

If a person is actually thinking of this, they should not be allowed to own a Mach 1. IMO

I bought a Mach 1 for this reason right here... There are atleast! 10 cobras for every one Mach 1. I bought a Mach 1 to be different.

The Mach 1 IMHO with the shaker makes cobras look like pussy GT's
Also I built my Mach 1 to kick EVERYTHINGS ass in!!!
And with over 800 rwhp safe tuned, I do just that

One up for the Mach 1 boys!! Keep them true brothers! Otherwise go get your self a Honda lol

I don't understand.. the Cobra intake manifold and plenum are the same as the Machs... If your concerned with the Cobra emblem on the manifold, then if you keep the shaker you won't see it anyways.

Agreed. If you don't want a shaker, get a 99/01 cobra.

Hell my 99 Cobras got a shaker! (and I'd hate to givie it up)

No way would I swap for anything else on a Mach...the shaker lets everybody know its a MACH...pretty much defines the car.

IMO the look the of the Mach 1 with the shaker hood helps them really pop and stand out. Mine is pretty much stock, basic mods (real basic) and I still draw decent amount of attention.

That was my thought process when I purchased one, you really don't see them that much.
