I picked up an SR Performance rear shock tower brace from American Muscle, and I haven't been able to fit it successfully. The tabs will need to be bent definitely but it seems the bar is a couple hairs too long to fit between the shock towers.

Here's the product for reference. http://www.americanmuscle.com/sr-black-shock-tower-brace-0514.html

Curious if anyone has had similar issues with fitment on these.

In the fine print in the ad...." Some modifications and welding may be required for installation."

Return it and get the Steeda X brace. Fits like a glove.

This is my daily driver, and I don't really want to pour gas on the carb of my '73 pickup everytime I need to transport something longer than 4 feet haha. I might end up getting the X but I was leaning towards the smaller brace for this reason (yeah I know, worst of both worlds with such a compromise but this is what I wanted). Any pointers?
