I already have a case open on ebay, he has until the 4th to give me a refund and after that its up to ebay and they will 100% side with me. I know fedex didn't screw up and thats why im not dealing with them... he is insisting that it's their fault. I paid $790 for it so I expected a good, ready to go block.

He has until the 4th to give me a refund and then I can ask ebay to step in and they will automatically give me a refund through buyer protection

Bruh, you bought some random garbage block off some random dude on eBay.

Seller is going to claim its used auto parts and the condition is normal and demand you send it back.

the block was advertised as freshly machined .020 over, decked, hot tanked and honed and for the price, it made sense that it was done properly and not a "garbage block". There should be 0 blemishes on the deck surface and the stock sleeves should not protrude out of the deck surface. He listed a block that was not the one he sent me... It doesn't have to do with "used auto parts", it has to do with bad shipping and false representation. But since you know everything, tell me where else I can find a teksid block online with all of that machining work done that is also shipped to my door?

Not sure why you are delaying it. But you do you. If you get scammed dont say we did not try to warn you.

I cannot do anything else until they make a choice. The seller and the buyer have 7 days to come to a resolution and after that, the buyer can ask ebay to step in to help. I cannot create a paypal case on top of an ebay case because then things will clash. I'll send the engine back and get my money back with ebay's buyer protection. You guys have been more than helpful with suggestions, but there is no way I will lose my money on this. Even if I lose my ebay case (which is impossible), I'll then open a paypal case and win

    eGay:

Seller will claim photos are representative and not actual item. You'll have a hard time explaining to eGay what proper machine work is and if he did the damage or if you did it carting around a block in your van.

Seller will agree to refund when you ship the block back. And eGay will be cool with that.

    Teksids:

$750 is practically core cost these days as all the MK8s have been crushed and everyone knows what a Teksid is. So to think you'll get a good core, machined and shipped for $750 is wishful thinking.

You in Cali, I'd be asking the forums and GayBook for recommended Ford engine builders in the West Coast. Gotta be a hundred of them. Start calling them if they have cores and quotes. This way you know they know mod motors, have torque plates and will do solid work.

A million junk yards out here and you can always call LKQ for a aluminum engine.

Machine work is going to run you $300+ for the bore and $200 for the deck and in sure a good hot tank etc is another $100-200. Budget $1k to get machine work done.

So you paid $750 for what should cost $1500+ $200 shipping and are shocked you got junk.

I have full documentation of how I received the package at my door with videos even from showing how busted the package was on arrival, to opening the box so I'm not worried about him trying to say it was me who damaged the block. So far he has been cooperative in messages saying that I should receive a shipping label tomorrow to send it back. Before buying, my estimated cost for such an engine was around that price from other quotes online but this was the most expensive teksid I could find and it just so happened to have all the work done to it so I thought it was a win win...lesson learned. Thank you for the tips on where to look and cost breakdown, much appreciated

Interesting. Trying to think of who it could be. Would like to know though so I don't make the mistake of every going there.

    dabreeze7 on eBay

Buyer got either one of these -

1996-01 Ford COBRA Mustang Aluminum Teksid 4.6 Block 020 | eBay

1996-01 Ford COBRA Mustang Aluminum Teksid 4.6 Block 020 | eBay

Just like I warned him in my post above - the description reads

"1996-04 Ford Mustang Aluminum Teksid 4.6 Block 020. Condition is "Used". Jet hot tank cleaned ,pressure tested ,Deck & Line bore checked , Bored & Honed .020 over ."

These blocks are not advertised as "Fresh machined blocks". They are used engines that had been previously machined.

    Lol.

Dabreeze7 sounds like someone who sells cigarettes and stolen stereo equipment out of the trunk of his car.

From my experiences, you may need to foot the bill to send that back. That's been my case with eBay anyway.

Under normal circumstances I would have no problem with you posting his profile and listing. But since I cannot have anything going wrong especially him finding this thread and seeing the shit that’s posted... can you delete this post? I don’t wanna get sued or some shit and I’ve been trying to avoid linking exactly who it is
