Wow, great progress! Amazing. I love Mystic's being brought back to life! You're doing it right. Anyway...

In the picture of the stock and LED headlights it looks like the stock had a better beam on the ground. Unless it was just the picture or the driver's side wasn't aimed for the picture.

That's a great detail in the early door panels. I never knew that.

Ever think of using the New Edge shifter bezel and double din radio bezel and painting them with your leftover Mystic paint?

Thank you! Appreciate the compliment.

The headlights had not been aimed yet when the picture was taken. Honestly I think the LED doesn’t provide as good of lighting, but it provides enough for now. One downfall is they don’t have a high beam option. I’m sure better quality kits do, but not the set I had laying around.

The door handle trim from my original door appears to be slightly too large for the older perforated panel. The handle that was with the perforated panel was damaged, so I’m hunting a passenger side door panel and handle plus a driver side handle trim. I have an extra one touch window switch that I’m going to connect to the passenger window.

I have a Mach 1 Shifter bezel in the 03 and love it. I’ll grab one for the Mystic some day. I had the Mach 1 Shifter ball painted mystic with white accents. I will pick it up this week with the spoilers and mirrors. I think it’ll be a nice touch.

I have thought about using the extra paint for accents, but haven’t made up my mind yet. I don’t want to over do it and make it look out of place or cheap. Stay tuned on that...

I didn't know adding one touch down for the passenger side was an option. Is it just plug and play?

That shifter ball sounds sweet. The mirrors and spoiler sounds like they'e
going to look great.

You might be right about overdoing the interior trim.

No, it’s not plug and play. I found a schematic on ponyperformance.com

I had a 2002 Silver SVTF - super fun car that was a daily driver for me. I put about 145K on that car before trading it in on 2011 MS3.

SVTF is a solid car. I have 176k on mine, but you’d never know. I really enjoy it. I need to get something with 4 doors next though. How is the MS3?

The MS3 has been traded off as of last year, but it was great as well. I think the SVTF was a better balanced car (suspension, power, braking), but the MS3 was a wilder ride. When the boost was on, I scared myself more than a few times while driving that car.

Did the front brakes on the Mystic today. Put the FR500’s on the Mystic and the SVE’s on the terminator.

Don’t have a good picture of the Mystic because it’s still on jack stands so I can change the oil.

It’s going back to the painter tomorrow to fix the bottom of the bumpers which didn’t get adequate paint coverage and around the door handles.

I really like those series 3s. Any comments on them? Good quality?

The fit and finish is really nice. I’m impressed so far with the quality of a budget conscious product otherwise known as a cheap Chinese CCW knockoff.

Changed the oil and spark plugs on the Mystic then dropped it off at the painter.

With an opening in the garage I turned to the terminator and decided it needs more power...

Drove to the other side of town to meet a new FB friend

This newfound friend is going turbo, so I grabbed his 3.4 Whipple and a few other goodies

He threw in 2 Whipple pulleys and Billetflow idlers along with CAI and MAF

Which will go together nicely with the heat exchanger and IC tank I previously purchased.

Need to upgrade the fuel system first. Thinking BAP and 80’s to start then we can expand from there if needed

The cowl cover was cracked. Couldn’t find a used one, but now looking at the new one I don’t regret buying new.

Side rocker was out of ailment and driving me nuts. Pulled them off and discovered it was due to an improper jacking procedure that bent the mounting points. Straightened out the damage and reinstalled the rocker trim. Not perfect but much better

.

Driver side needs a touch up as well. The 03 is about to get some paint, so it’ll be addressed at that time.

How's the finish of the new cowl cover compare with the original? I need to replace mine because it's wavy but don't want it to look like it's not factory

Looks factory. LMR sells a Ford replacement as well. Figured I’d grab the off brand and send it back if it wasn’t up to par.

Definitely met my standards. You’ll need to keep your clips and windshield sprayer components.

I’ll update the post if it doesn’t hold up.

Mystic seats are in rough shape
7780a19a6890d48f12e2c230dcb6b8aa.jpg

Bought some TMI covers, but found the factory covers are glued on to the seat foam. 99+ have metal rods attached to the foam with hog rings. The new covers require the rods to attach the covers to the foam. When I tried removing the existing covers it tore up the foam.

Looked into new foam which costs over $350. Foam plus covers put the cost where I wasn’t comfortable.

I found some 03/04 seats locally for $380.

They’re filthy, but not torn. I’m going to see how they clean up. Worst case I’ll have the inserts replaced.

Used a cheap steamer with a microfiber rag. Tried steaming and wiping at first then tried putting the microfiber over the head of the steamer. The latter appears to work better.
