So, correct me if I am wrong, but the 2018 F-150 has SIX motor options.

Interesting:

https://www.ford.com/trucks/f150/2018/

"Based on your need, the 2018 F-150 provides more engine alternatives. First, there’s an all-new standard 3.3L Ti-VCT V6. Next up, a 2.7L EcoBoost,Ⓡ a 5.0L Ti-VCT V8 and a 3.5L EcoBoost are all paired with a 10-speed transmission to deliver improved acceleration and performance. Of course, the F-150 Raptor gets its own unique high-output 3.5L EcoBoost. Also look for yet another powerful new option … with a new 3.0L Power StrokeⓇ Diesel engine."

- 2.7L EcoBoost i4
- 3.0L Power Stroke Diesel V6
- 3.3L Ti-VCT V6
- 3.5L EcoBoost V6
- 3.5L High Output EcoBoost V6 (Raptor only)
- 5.0L TiVCT V8

Question, is the 3.0L Powerstroke actually built by Ford like the 6.7L Powerstroke? I've been out of the loop a bit in this area.

Also, any news on the 'improved' 6.2L V8 (Super Duty)? Ford briefly mentioned a second gen 6.2L but haven't heard much else.

I'm sure it will be manufactured alongside the 3.0 Lion diesel as that is where they started. Ford did help with the design of it to start. Not sure if its a Ford plant or Land Rover plant though.

I'm really excited about the upgrades the F150 coyote is going to get. Dual fuel injection, raised compression and 10 speed auto. This thing should easily get a hp rating from the factory of 400 hp.

I know everyone is going nuts over the EcoBoosts, and rightly so. They really are a great engine package. That being said, it would be a hard decision to make as i could see myself wanting to get a Roush TVS and the 5.0 with 4x4 and crewcab

Choice is a good thing!

It used to be that you always had a lot of individual choice in automobile setups and packages. Heck the 1969 Firebird alone had 7 engine choices.

175hp SOHC I6
225hp SOHC "Sprint" I6
275hp 350
325hp 350 HO
330hp 400
335hp RAIII 400
345hp RAIV 400 (Trans Am only)

You could have any of these cars with almost any trim configuration as well, so you didn't have to have the big 400 to also have a well equipped car. I'd like to see manufacturers get back to some of that.

Can we please get back to the 50s & 60s when there were many options for everything & we did not have to buy a $5k package with a bunch of crap we do not want just to get the 1 thing we do? Thank you.

100% agree. Not limit certain amenities to certain packages. Sell package cars on the lots but a lot for 100% customization when buying new.

Now ford needs to be a champ and let every trim level have the option for leather seats

this debate has been going on in my head for a while now lol. 2018 ecoboost with a tune or 5.0 with a TVS
