So since I have been out of the scene for about four years, what has been found out about different setups? How are the whipple vs kb cars doing? What about turbos? Supporting mods? What will I need to produce 700 rwhp? And still be a reliable street driven car.

Thanks for the help in advance, I want to do it right the second time around.

Big Whipple or big KB and big supporting mods. Stay away from turbo's you will make over 700, but the power is not streetable

why's that exactly...

Not flaming you, just a question

What I implied is not true streetable HP like that of a TS. The turbo car itself is streetable. A TS power curve is more -now- vs. turbo lag (yes there is still tubo lag). A postban explains, it's off or on, no in between. I would rather drive a 700 HP TS vs. 700 turbo any day.

Will you still have a lot of turbo lag with the the Hellion twin turbo setup? I would do the same setup they did in the article above. Use the stock supercharger and twin 66mm turbo. I think you would have little lag, but that is just my opinion.

If you haven't already read that article you should, it's pretty amazing. Not talking down on twin screws, I just think this would be a sweet setup.

I would say minimal turbo lag considering retention of the supercharger.

Definately a sweet set-up.

A turbo car setup properly will have little to no lag. Automatic trans with the right torque converter will light the tires immediately. Also factor in the spark issues and it adds up to a lot of money to do it right. That was the only problem with Dave's car when he had it. It wasn't quite right but it was pretty close.

Yeah I have been looking into the other things I would need here is a list with some prices.

Fuel System
Sump in tank ?
-10 Fuel supply line- $100
-8 Fuel return line- $100
Weldon 2345 fuel pump-$1119
Weldon Fuel filter- $119
Weldon fuel-pressure regulator- $329
Weldon Dial-A-Flow- $389
Aeromotive 1/2-inch fuel rails- $230
160-pound fuel injectors ?

Ignition
PMS engine-management setup from Anderson Ford Motorsports- $1077
Plug in low impedance driver for 50 lb/hr and larger injectors- $249.00
PMAS MAF sensor 3.5in- $265

Drivetrain
Bell housing- $400
Clutch- $1600
Liberty 26 Spline Input Shaft- $255
Mcleod retainer sleeve- $115
Shims- $20
Differential- $450
Half Shafts- $1800
Differential Brace- $160
IRS Bushings- $50

Chassis
Subframe Connectors- $400

This is just a rough estimate of the parts they used for the test car, plus some drive line items I think you would need. I will probably not need as crazy of a fuel system because I would be happy with 800 to 900 rwhp. I know I upped my desired hp lol. Anything else I might be missing?

Add at least $200 for fittings and you're pretty close on the estimate.

Ok done, thanks Kevin. I guess my main goal should be to find a car with relatively low miles and already have some of the chassis mods done. I really don’t feel like doing those IRS bushings again, and don’t feel like doing the input shaft.
