Investigated fatals for years in the traffic division. Weve had like (24) wrong way driver deaths in this state this year and its a tiny state CT. Stay out of the LEFT lane. The FAST lane.....

Drunk drivers who go the WRONG WAY on the hiway think they are in the RIGHT lane the SLOW lane. Theyre not!

They are now in the FAST lane so stay out of the left lane when traveling on the hiway after midnight where 20-30% of the drivers are DRUNK!

Most all of the videos where cars go head on with drunk drivers the drunk is in the FAST lane.

When I was probably 13 or 14 I was riding with my brother in my dad's truck and heading home late at night after closing the rink and we were head on with a car going the wrong direction in the left lane. It was only a 2 lane highway so not much room to move anywhere but I remember seeing the headlights to the point they were obscured by the hood of the truck and I could see the driver staring straight ahead with his hands on 10 and 2. I don't know how we avoided that crash given those circumstances because it was nothing short of a miracle. My brother swerved to the right and fish-tailed the truck in the freeway before recovering.

Sounds like good advice at this time of year. Bonus, advice works even if you suspect that the drivers of both vehicles are impaired. (Between 4 - 9 percent.)

Just happened up in MA, a Tesla killed an Endicott College Sargent. Wrong way driver is accused of being drunk. SUCKS the driver of the Tesla survived, and the good guy died.

Driving instructor told my class back in 1999, “if you hit another vehicle head on, take your speed and their speed, add them, and drive into a wall at that speed. Head on equals dead on.”

And after seeing enough like OP stated, he’s right. And the drunk will almost always live, because somehow god looks out for drunks and fools.

Sound advice just in general, no need to just sit in the left lane :)
Preach that too! Left lane is not the "fast" lane, it's the PASSING lane. If you're not passing anybody, GTFO of it whether you think you're going fast or not. I teach with a teen-driver accident avoidance clinic and I preach this gospel at lunch every time.

didn’t you tell us multiple times you were a CO?
Corrections? No Police im retired now. I was a LT. A shift commander for the central precinct and had a dog I prepared and was gonna use cause I was gonna run the K9 unit use but retired and ended up competing with him instead.

My Chief got arrested by the FBI for corruption so my K9 dreams went down the drain just as his career did lol.

TBH im really bored in retirement think I might go back to work next year..... Had a job investigating accidents for an insurance company but that was boring.

people shouldn't be driving in the "fast lane" because it's not the "fast lane" it's the "PASSING LANE" but I'm fine with whatever keeps people the **** out of that lane more frequently
